Here are instructions to add a photo/image gallery to your website.

  1. Click Websites Manager on the left, then click Edit Site to go to the editor.

  2. Open the page that you want to add your gallery to.

  3. Click Insert.

  4. Hover over Image, then click Photo Gallery.

  5. Browse to select the first image to add to your gallery and click OK.

  6. The selected image appears on your page, surrounded by a blue outline.

  7. To add more images to the gallery, click Add (plus sign) on the Basics tab of the right and browse to select another image. Repeat this step for each image you want to add to the gallery.

  8. To change the order in which the images appear in the gallery, select the image to move from the list and click the Up and Down arrows, as appropriate.

  9. Optionally, you can add a caption for each image in the gallery by selecting the image and typing the caption in the Caption field.

  10. Optionally, you can change the size and the spacing of the thumbnail images in your gallery. On the Basics tab, select the appropriate Thumbnail Size and Thumbnail Spacing settings from the drop-down menus.

  11. Change the height and width of your gallery grid by clicking and dragging one of the blue corners of the gallery's bounding box until your gallery looks the way you want.

Before you publish this page, click Preview to make sure your gallery looks and behaves the way you want.

Hello,

The only way to do this is with the photo gallery element.

Sorry! We were unable to upload your image because it is not a PNG, JPG, or GIF file. Please ensure your image is one of these formats and try again.

It appears as though the image is a different format that is not compatible. If you are on a Windows computer, then open it in Microsoft Paint, and use the save as option to change the file type. PNG and JPG are the best options. If you do that, you should be able to upload it to the site as well.

Try renaming a couple to have .jpg and see if that solves it.

This is what i see when i changed it "Unsupported image format, supported formats are gif, png, jpeg, and jpg.  As you see, it is jpeg formatted and it is still not allowing me to post the picture.  I have struggled with this problem for years with this website and I am about to change over.  Some days it will allow my pictures to post then some days it wont.  I do not have time to sit here every day and try to wait and cross my eyes fingers and toes to see if they post or not.

When I saved the images, they were not jpeg, they are jpe. I changed them to jpg and they uploaded to my site without an issue. jpe would generate the error.

VIckie I dont know what programme you are using for your images but I have just created a gallery and uploaded several images from both file manager and direct from my computer without missing a beat. I use a free image programme called Irfanview.  http://www.irfanview.com/   I have used it for editing images for the past 16 years building websites for customers and can guarantee it is bug and advert free. Its s very simple programme but can do amazing work with images, you can save the picture in a myriad of extension and its available in both 32 and 64 bit versions. My suggetion is to download irfanview, open the image you want to use with irfan, save it as a JPG to your desktop. Then try uploading to your webpage from there. As Drew pointed out when he tried to  upload yor image it had "jpe" extension. this is a rare image extension used mainly I believe in Commercial appilication programmes, but similar to JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group). SO... Try using irfan, save it as JPG and see how you go...

How do I rotate an image or picture that I have used to create a photo gallery? I need to change the orientation of the thumbnail and the expanded image?

Starting at step 7, this should give you an idea on how to make changes to your photo gallery.

I don't understand? Where are the steps you are talking about? I don't see any instructions or link to any? I just want to rotate an image, is there an easy way to do that? Or do I have to rotate the image before I upload it? I noticed that sometimes when I upload an image the orientation changes for some reason, and it is going the wrong way after putting it on my website.

As per your other topic, for a gallery you do need to orient the image first. You may need to edit it prior to uploading as described in the other topic.

It could be that you have spaces or special characters in the file names of the images. It is best to only have letters and numbers. It could also be the browser. Internet Explorer 11 is pretty flaky. Try Chrome or Firefox.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Getting an image to enlarge when I click on it.

I have loaded images on my website. I want them to enlarge when I click on them. I also want to be able to show the title and size of each image when it enlarges.
