Hello all,

We are currently aware of the issue where you get a warning popup in Sitebuilder Desktop asking about deleting your local files because your published files are deleted. We are working to get this resolved, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Please see below the updated fix for the Sitebuilder desktop:

*When the popup comes up asking if you want to delete or not, close out of Sitebuilder completely. You do not have to select any option or go through this for all your files if the steps below are done.

Step 1. We need to refresh the files on our side. Please respond to this post so I can refresh your files for you. This updates our file list manually so the files will sync properly.

Step 2. Close out of Sitebuilder completely and navigate to your website files stored on your computer. In your site file the "~localFileCache.xml" needs to be deleted.

To locate your site files:

Windows XP go to
C:\Program Files\Homestead\SiteBuilder\data\user\Sites.

Windows Vista and Windows 7, Windows 8 go to C:\ProgramData\Homestead\SiteBuilder\data\user\Sites. To learn how to find this folder, read Show hidden folders in Windows.

After this open up Sitebuilder and it should be fine. You will need delete the file on each computer you use Stirebuilder Desktop on.

When I logged into the desktop this morning, I still had the message, and I simply don't have time to press "delete local copy" all day.  I'm using Windows 8 - where can I clean out my own computer to speed up this process of logging in?

Bill9100,

I see the files already for both slccv.org and frankspages.homestead.com. Are these giving the delete local copy box when pulling them up in Sitebuilder?

You refreshed the files two days ago (?).  I followed the instruction on deleting the file.  When I did so the problem disappeared.  I was able to make several changes.  When I went back today the problem reappeared.  It effectively locks up the computer so I have to force a restart.  Then I did what may be a foolish thing.  I deleted the file again.  Now when I go on it says all files need to be uploaded.  Do I need to download sitebuilder?

Thanks for your help.  These are not easy days for you.

I just went back to slccv.org and loaded it.  It went fine but asked me to choose between a published copy of a page and one on my computer.  I chose the published copy.  It then displayed a copy of the last page I worked on yesterday without the one change I had made published yesterday.  But on File manager It no longer shows all foles needing update.  In short it seems to be working.

We had a situation where some customer sites were not syncing with our server. The above process will re sync the files to our server. Do you have sites that need to be refreshed.

After being totally down for 2 months all of my accounts were working. At the current time I am on vacation and went in to do a quick update on one of my sites and NOTHING IS THERE!!!! The website is still up but I have NO files. Please restore all of the files from http://www.irresistibleshihtzu.com   into my account in the appropriate place. I have no idea how this happened or how to fix it.. I do not have hours to sit on hold while on vacation on a cell phone that I pay for the minutes.

Now when I try to open my site I get an error message "cannot load page at index.xpf?"  This is for www.thewholegamutstudio.com.
Also, when I try to update the site using the online editor it shows a very old version of the site.  The published version is current.
Thanks

The index page opened for me. This message usually means a corruption of the file, or a disruption is connection while loading. Can you try to load it again?

All my websites have been refreshed, and okay. I de-installed HS Desktop and then re-installed it. When I try to publish an edited page, it will not show on my monitor, although the "view this page after publishing" is checked.  If I go directly to my URL, the edited page has been uploaded and published okay, but I want to see it on my monitor directly after publishing.

The Review button works okay, but I can not copy and paste the URL, it is greyed out. What can I do?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled deleted files?.

opened desktop sitebuilder tonight and got a pop-up saying "the published cipy of this file has recently been deleted." Then it shows a file name and gives the option to "view local copy". It says "would you like to delete the local copy?" and gives the option to delete or don't delete. I picked don't delete, and then another file takes it's place, and on and on. After 20 or so files I didn't know if there was ever going to be an end to it. Can't close out the pop-up though. Need to update my site. What is the problem NOW????? This is so tiresome to have all these constant problems.

Tonight my site (nitasnest) is acting like it did when you were migrating to new servers.  Got the initial error which I ignored.  Updated the site and when I go to publish I am "offline".    So what is up with Homestead?  I thought once the migration was done things were going to go back to normal?  Instead it's been super slow, then the need to have sites refreshed (WHY???) and now it's like your in the midst of migrating again.  I don't understand what is going on.  Is this how it's going to be from now on with Homestead?  Please fix this stuff and please TELL US what is really going on.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled loss of all pages in site builder, force template request.

Several times when trying to access existing sites within the web sitebuilder plus - or the local sitebuilder I am forced to choose a template, as though the existing site does not exist.  Even on local sitebuilder, no files are being shown in the domain file manager.  The sites are active and currently working online, but I need to make changes and updates weekly.  I am afraid to proceed without direction from Homestead - I cannot lose my sites and begin from scratch.  PLEASE ADVISE!
