Hello all,

We are currently aware of the issue where you get a warning popup in Sitebuilder Desktop asking about deleting your local files because your published files are deleted. We are working to get this resolved, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Please see below the updated fix for the Sitebuilder desktop:

*When the popup comes up asking if you want to delete or not, close out of Sitebuilder completely. You do not have to select any option or go through this for all your files if the steps below are done.

Step 1. We need to refresh the files on our side. Please respond to this post so I can refresh your files for you. This updates our file list manually so the files will sync properly.

Step 2. Close out of Sitebuilder completely and navigate to your website files stored on your computer. In your site file the "~localFileCache.xml" needs to be deleted.

To locate your site files:

Windows XP go to
C:\Program Files\Homestead\SiteBuilder\data\user\Sites.

Windows Vista and Windows 7, Windows 8 go to C:\ProgramData\Homestead\SiteBuilder\data\user\Sites. To learn how to find this folder, read Show hidden folders in Windows.

After this open up Sitebuilder and it should be fine. You will need delete the file on each computer you use Stirebuilder Desktop on.

Clairice2888,

My understanding was that it should only need to be refreshed once. Well, that is not the case, so I am looking into  it.

I just had the delete files issue on another site I'm building for someone. Ridiculous! Since there aren't a ton of files to wade through, I'll wait and see if it happens the next time I open it to work on it and if so, will come back here to have it refreshed or whatever. :(

Ask your website to be refreshed. You need to list it so they know which one.

I have many websites, can a global publish be done without me listing each individual website? I am going into File Manager and having to select each file and then upload.

Oh Drew/William?

guess what? its now 3 days later and it started again. i've been fine for 3 days and now its back. i have a workaround, but you really need to get this fixed. it appears as if whatever your servers did the other day has resurfaced.

what say you? do you want to "refresh me" for the 4th time? or should i just wait until you sort this out again?

just wait until everyone else wakes up. here we go again.

As with Bill5099 above, this morning my site repeated the delete local files message.
Please let me know if you will need to refresh again or if there is another fix.

Many were encouraged to get sitebuilder plus during the migration because it was a pain to do a clean install. So at one time or another we have tried to exist, because that is all you do with site builder plus.

Bill5099

i've had PLUS enabled for over 18 months. totally useless. has nothing to do with the migration. i never use it. the issue now is that it appears that there is now a conflict btw the 2. this is my best guess since they have no idea why this delete/refresh nonsense is repeating itself.

NOPE! Don't think that isn't the problem with the delete files. I believe you can use it at any time if your having problems with working with sitebuilder. You use plus on line. sitebuilder is on your PC and on line.

The website that I had problem Delete files with I don't think I even used it on sitebuilder plus. I have 5 websites. But Yes I did have problems trying to use Plus because when I went back to sitebuilder the work had not saved! I had to do my work all over again.

I Deleted my Folder, because Site builder asked me if I wanted to delete it. Didn't believe I would need that folder and my site would upload faster.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Why am I getting this error?.

I have 65 web sites, some sites with several hundred pages. This is what I get with every site. What is going on at Homestead? I have been with this website company for 15 years and never had this much trouble. I need some resolution before the end of the day!!!!

how were you able to "de-install" Plus. i'm not sure that's even possible. i would love to able to that. nothing but problems since they enabled it without asking me.

maybe my memory has dimmed. it was a while back, maybe I thought HS took over control of my computer, took off Plus and installed Desktop, or maybe I did both myself. but either way I was glad to get back onto desktop, despite the last few weeks of frustrations and down time. The latest problem is that despite no popup blocker, I do not see the published page after I upload, just started a couple of days ago.

after uploading to publish, I can preview the page but the URL is greyed out and I can not copy and paste it into an e-mail - any idea why?

um. Drew? William?

just a quick FYI. was just doing my weekly computer clean up(not sure if there is any connection here), but it includes a clearing of browser cache etc. and guess what? i got the whole "delete or not delete" prompt again immediately. i was just curious to see. this time i had to do my work around 3 times before returning to "normal". took less than 10 minutes. did this happen by accident? maybe. but i doubt it.

is this just me? should we do a 4th "refresh"? do we wait until they figure it out? do you have any clue as to why this is continuing to happen?

getting a little tired of this.

it seems that if i try to make an edit and publish it prompts me. otherwise if i make no changes i'm good. i have my workaround and the site is up and working. so i'm good for now, but it really does need to get resolved.

ok. now after "synchronizing", logging out, "getting checksum", logging in and out, testing an edit, publishinging, logging in and out, it seems like we are all set.

so. we are now officially back to the above 5 possibilities. crossing my fingers.

I am having the same problem as others, but I can't find the local cache files in order to delete them.  When I go to Sitebuilder/data/users/....I don't see sites as an option and I also don't see local cache to delete.  (I have already instructed my computer to view hidden folders).  Now what?
