I don't see any updates in the system status, but when customers are going to my site they are getting this..... "Homestead services have been temporarily interrupted. We would like to assure you that we are making every effort to restore service as quickly as possible. We know how much this inconveniences you and very much appreciate your patience." Is this going to be long? I have a sale ending in a few hours and so a lot of customers are trying to get in.

Anytime we have an outage or service interruption, we post the announcement to : http://status.homestead.com/ and also on the home page of this Community site, you'll see an announcement link on the right side of the page.

My worst fears are realized. The e-mail was an inconvenience compared to having my internet gift business closed during November and December. After massive losses during the denial of service fiasco a few years ago I am very concerned. What is the cause of this service disruption. I assume it is a lack of security or massive errors on the part of Homestead. During a planned outage they should have had the courtesy to inform us and make updates in the wee hours when shoppers are asleep.

My site is still down. From the look of my shopping cart program it has been at least 4 hours. Also the carts before that are very limited. Nothing between 10am and 1pm eastern time so I would say it's been having trouble all day. Very sad.

We are terribly sorry for this outage. I have just received word that some sites are starting to come back online now but don't have an ETA or confirmation that all sites are back up yet. I will keep you all posted on the Update page here: https://community.homestead.com/homes...

Thank you for working on it. I have been with you guys almost 10 years and this happens every now and then. As much as it really sucks when my site is down you guys do a really good job 99% of the time. It sure does hurt though when I'm losing money.

Thanks. My site is back up, most of the way. It's loading extremely slowly and the pictures aren't loading properly or at all. I'm assuming it's all related. I hope we all have better luck in the morning.

Website down!.

So my retail website is down because of an outage for over an hour now during the busy holiday shopping season. This is costing me hundreds of dollars. First the email problems which have been going on for weeks and now this. This is unbelievable. I can't even comprehend what is going on with Homestead. I am literally at a loss for words.

What happened to the website! Sevices are temporatily unavailable for an hour curing the second busiest month of the year! Who needs e-mail if the store is closed. HELP what is going on with this new owner?

Note: This topic was created from a reply on the How do I voice my complaint with regard to the email service? topic.

Why did it happen? Will it happen again? Homestead goes down in flames again taking the dreams of thousands of small business owners with it. To quote Herbert Morrison "Oh, the humanity!" Wait to dismantle the service until January. You have done enough damage with the e-mail upgrade.

Websites Down..... When is it going to be fixed???.

I see in the status that there are various websites DOWN......... Mine happens to be one of them. I checked my stats and have no visitors for nearly 5 hours. This is unacceptable, especially with Christmas shopping (on a Thursday night) happening NOW. Couple this to the massive amounts of email SPAM, the recent email issues.............. I'm really pissed off.

When is the current issue being fixed???? AND....... how much money are Homestead customers going to lose this holiday season with more outages, unreliable email, etc......????

Your company better get it together.

I was able to access my site for an hour or so and could fill some orders but now it is gone again. When I tried to page and file manager to remove the image of a product that was sold I chilled to find the files had disappeared. What is going on? I hope you are protecting my ten years of website development in a cloud somewhere. Put it back and stop messing with things during the National Buying Season. This is no time to experiment with untested spam filters and change a system that was working fine before the new owners charted to mix it up. What is going on? I need to ship orders now. At least the few that are not blocked by a blank page. This is so unfair.
I have worked so hard to build this business.

I agree with Kathy. This is really unfortunate. Someone obviously screwed up big time. As loyal customers of Homestead, will any of us be reimbursed or credited for this service outage? We appreciate the apology, and I'm sure it's sincere but I think it only seems fair (and is good business), to give customers like myself, and others, who were effected by the outage, a credit or refund. I am seriously thinking of taking my business over to Godaddy.com, if this continues past tomorrow morning.

Not only is my site down, but I am unable to access my email as well. I am really not happy. I have patiently dealt with a ton of spam, emails not being delivered and received for the past month. This total breakdown, however, is really bad. I am definitely feeling angry and would appreciate a response.

Here is what I get when I try to log into my email

"Zimbra Server Down!
We are sorry, zimbra server is down is at the moment. Please check back again later."

and this comes up when I try to access my site

"Sorry, services are temporarily unavailable.

We do apologize for the issue you have with the website. It is being worked on as we speak. The mail service is separate and not experiencing any down time.

Can you give us more information? What browser are you using?

Credits are handled on a case by case basis. If you would contact support directly, we can discuss a reasonable and fair credit.

Thanks

Our site was down, then it came up.....was loading slow. Then all was working fine at 8:30PST....now one hour later, nothing. Any idea when this will be resolved? A window of an hour or two is fine but what is killing us besides our customers not being able to access our site (which has had more than 148,000 hits so far this year) is the risk of the search engines crawling it and realizing it is down and the losing some organic ranking. This is crazy to be down this long. Please update us on this situation. This is a mess for us!

What I would like to know is why? Not just this outage, but all the problems within the last 6 months. I have been with Homestead for almost 10 years, and can't remember having ANY problems until this last six months, when it seems that the whole place is coming unglued. One problem after another. My email forwarding still doesn't work correctly and now this. What is going on Homestead? What changed?

BTW, my retail website has been down now for 7+ hours at this busy time of the year.

This is outrageous as usual.

Enough is enough - even after the email fiasco (ongoing with no idea when it will be reliable) to have the whole site down is just unforgivable.

Find another webshosting company, with decent sitebuilding software (not a dumbed down version of the previously good one available to download) and just go there.

I am in the process of doing this, rebuilding my site somewhere else, with someone more reliable. After 10+ years with Homestead, this last couple have really sucked.

No discussion of refunds, only "credits" to spend inhouse when we're not even geting the service we've paid in advance for.

No point trying to discuss it with anybody at Homestead, they seem to want us to go elsewhere by never fixing anything.

Very disappointing Homestead. Unrealiable, unprofessional and an utter embarrassment to all of us businesses who rely on our sites for our income, and are having to make a million excuses to our clients who are wondering where our sites are and why they're not getting any of our emails.

...And now my mailbox does not even work, so let's recap: the website does not work, the software does not work, the mailbox does not work, the images I used on ebay that are hosted on my website are not working..... I think if this is not fixed soon some lawsuits might be filed!!!!!!!!!!!!
