Hi William, I moved your post tot his thread so that you can perhaps get some feedback from other community members as well.

I did take a few minutes to look at your site www.gacustomcabinets.com and there is a lot of good information on it but it does not seem to have a nice flow, or focus. This can make it hard for customers to locate what hey want and if they can't easily navigate the site, they will usually leave it after just a few seconds.

The best thing to do is compare your site to your competitors (because your customers will!). I did a quick search for custom cabinets and here are a couple sites that popped up.
http://www.huntwood.com/
http://plainfancycabinetry.com/
http://www.kraftmaid.com/

Notice all 3 of these have much cleaner, organized design and even a little Flash to grab the visitors attention. So, when customers are searching online, they will usually look at multiple sites, and call the company who's website looks the most professional.

If you are struggling to get conversions from your site and need help let us know, we have various options depending on the level of help you wish to receive.

Thanks!
Mike

Hi Tyler, The best way to get feedback is to go to other sites on this thread, and review them. Then ask those folks to return the favor. We'll try to return to this thread and review sites occasionally as well.

Tyler8403, really enjoyed your website. Great topic, very clean. Only thing i would say is to get rid of that homestead footer. Youve paid for that url and I assume you pay monthly for a package so I see no need to advertise Homestead....additionally, you already have your own footer on the pages anyway. Nice work tho!

Hi,

I've been a Homestead user for many years with my photography, but now we've started a new business so oh course we've used Homestead.

Please take a look and let us know what you think and offer any advice. www.peacockfreshgear.com

Thank you.

Hi Doug6992,

Overall I think the site looks descent. I have just one main concern that you may want to address. Since this was the first time I've seen your site, it took me a few minutes to figure out exactly what type of business it was. At first it appeared to be a laundry service that specialized in sports gear, but I knew there must be something different. So, after digging around I finally found the "What is Ozone?" section about 1/2 way down the Our Services page. Keep in mind, if new visitors to your site can't find what they are looking for within the first few seconds, you'll probably have a high bounce rate and lose most of the visitors that come to your site in the first few seconds. You might consider making that information more visible, perhaps on the home page.

Also, you might solicit some feedback from other community members. There's a lot of people hear asking for reviews. If you review someone else's site, ask them to return the favor.

Good luck!

Mike

Hi Laurie6956,
You ask a very common question and there are an endless number of things that people can always do to make their websites better. It really depends on what part you want to improve, appearance, traffic, conversion rates etc.

The best thing to do is to do a Google search for something like "Daycare Everett 98203". Then take a look at your competitors sites and compare the appearance, and the amount and type of content your competitors have. To be the most effective, you website will need to look equal or better than your competition. Since your site is already coming up on the first page of Google then that is great! I would focus now on coming up with a more professional design, which will increase conversion rates.

I think your site is nice but Id STRONGLY recommend you make your background static. I have a big monitor and to be frank, the background repeats way too much and makes it look bad. So with a static background youd stop this from happening.

You could throw a css code to stop this...something like:

body
{
background-image:url('img_tree.png');
background-repeat:no-repeat;
background-position:right top;
}

or learn more from http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_back...

Like the overall site tho. Just looks funny on my big widescreen.

It looks like some of your pages are using the Master Template and others are not. This is probably why you are missing the navigation menu. However it is very easy to add back to any page it's missing from. Just click Insert> More > Navigation Menu> Use an existing Site Navigation Menu, and it will be back on the page.

Let us know if you need further instructions.

Thanks!

Id get rid of the borders around all your content - thats my main issue with your site for me. Get rid of the Homestead footer too.

As for your email I dunno what you mean. You could link it to a contact page or write something like "Email us at gravesfp@verizon.net or click here" or just link your email using html code....

This site has an example or two:

http://www.echoecho.com/htmllinks11.htm

but many users including me do not have a default email that would work with these examples.

Hi Elleneidtz, Welcome to the Community!

When it comes to SEO and ranking organically there are lots of things to learn. As I look at you site, you seem to have an adequate amount of text through out the site, bit it is rather weak in keyword density.

There are also numerous other things you can do to help the organic rankings, such as adding "H Tags", add a sitemap and verify with Google and Bing, and try to build as many back-links from other websites (preferably high traffic sites with similar/same industry content).

I see you have had your account for several years so I'm assuming you have a pretty good grasp on how to use the SiteBuilder. We do offer an SEO service if you are interested, but based on the work I see, I think you could probably handle this on your own. If you just need a little guidance or are unfamiliar the thinks I mentioned, we do sell a DIY step-by-step ebook that goes through all the steps of optimizing your website. This ebook is specific to our SiteBuilder software as well so even if you are not an advanced user, you'll be able to figure it out. The book is a one time cost of $50. If you are interested let us know.

Nice site. Id ditch the homestead "follow" buttons and maybe go with addthis.com or something of that nature (i think they look much better). Also you should make your background static so it doesnt repeat.

Nice looking and clean site. I would recommend removing the Homestead footer but thats me. I personally don't like displaying it but to each his own. Other than that - the NIGP Codes on the "Services" page overlaps the border - on my browser anyway. I use Google Chrome, with a 23" widescreen monitor. Other than those two things I mentioned, I say good luck with your site.

p.s. Your title is not capitalized on your "Services" and "Products" pages.

Wow! Nicely done. Graphics are great and links are clearly defined. Suggestions: Now that the lion's share of the website is finished it is time to go over the details with a finetooth comb. For example, "We are usually 50 % cheaper then the local dealer"... the word "then" should be "than." Also, some sentences end with the last word on a second line. Either make the font smaller or make the box it is in longer so that the last sentence and the last word in any one description ends on the same line.

Check the site on several different browsers such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari, so that the html may be adjusted when something does not look good. It is important to create a balance and have the website appear coherent on all browsers.

Looks like you did a pretty nice job setting up the site. I also like the way you linked from images on your Products page to the actual individual Poduct Details screens for each product. That makes it very easy for the customers to locate what they are looking for and one step easier for them to get the item in their cart.

The next area of focus I would suggest would be SEO. You might want to try and increase the frequency of some of your more important keyword/phrases on the home page. As of now the three words that have the most frequency are; Alaska, information, and products, which are all a bit to general to really target the right customers. To get the ball rolling you might want to start optimizing around a product that is a good seller and has a high profit margin, and then expand from there.
