Setup email using the Exchange configuration on iPhone

IMPORTANT - It is necessary to have your standard Hmail account converted to an Hmail Suite in order to support the added features (synchronization of email folders, calendar events and even email contacts). After converting to the Hmail Suite, please allow 15 minutes for the changes to take affect before proceeding with the instructions below. 

Instructions for upgrading to an Hmail Suite

1. Open iPhone settings

and select the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" as shown in the image below.



2. Choose "Add Account".



3. Select the "Exchange" option.



4. Enter your email address and password which you created on the Homestead website and a description for the account.



5. Enter the server name emailmg.homestead.com (all other fields should auto-fill).



6. Select the options you wish to sync ( or leave all turned on), and select Save.

Since the intuit wmail changed over last Friday, my email does not work on my iphone. How can I fix this? It is a huge problem for me!

Depending on what configuration you are using there could be several things to look at. This option above will likely work the best, but if you'd rather connect with POP or IMAP, let us know and we'll get you the correct instructions.

I tried this and it still doesn't work for me.  I can receive incoming emails but cannot reply or send outgoing emails -- I receive immediate error message that the sender address (my email) was rejected by the server.

I've tried setting up as an exchange account and also is an "other account and neither way works to reply or send, but I can receive all incoming emails.  Thanks!

Hello,

I'd be more than happy to try and help you with getting this to work. How is your mail set up currently? IMAP or exchange? Do you have a preference as to which type you want to use?

i keep getting asked for my password. i am trying to setup my suite box on iPhone using exchange setting. any suggestions??

So the update from my side. I am still setting up my MacBook as a pop account and have the settings on outlook to remove emails from the server. As for the iPhone What I did was enter my server details rather than leave it blank and made sure my email was all in small letters. It has been working very well.
Same problem -  iphone tech guy said to uninstall it and start over.  oh joys....

Can you screen shot your iPhone settings for the exchange and post? It may make it easier to help?

You also need to change the email box to be a Suite. You added it to the account, but you need to manage the email account and switch it to the suite.

Mike, thank you for the email. I did everything listed above including upgrading to hmail suite and it is still not working on my iphone 5.

States:
Cannot Get Email
The connection to the server failed.

Suggestions? Thanks!

If the connection to the server is failing, it could be any one (or a combination) of the things in steps 4 & 5 above.

If you can't visibly see any errors, it may be best to just delete the account and reconfigure it from the beginning.

So i followed your setup directions and everything works fine except it won't send emails, it's keeps giving me an error.  How do I fix this?  This is the same problem I have always had, when I had my last iPhone i just ignored it and stopped using email on my iPhone.

same issue..... take password at setup but when you send a test email says incorrect password ... on PC signs in and out no problem same password

homestead is the only one I ever have issue with ... when it comes to setting up emails....ugh

This configuration requires an upgraded mailbox. The boxes you have you would set up as IMAP. Do you need a shared contact list and calendar?

i have followed the above steps using my suite account and i still have the same problem (incorrect password try again). My issue is i need all of the meeting requests that are emailed to me to synchronise on all of my devices. this is why i was hoping to setup the exchange and also why i upgraded to suite. bearing in mind that i want emails and calendars to sync on every device should i also set up my outlook using exchange?

Are you able to log in to webmail with the password you are using? If not you will need to change the email password. The second most common reason for this is that the user name must be the complete email address. Make sure there is it is spelled correctly. A suite is required for the syncing of calendars, but let's find the iphone issue first, then we can go to other devices.

could this be that the email i created was using JLloyd and what needs to be typed is case sensitive? as in should be jlloyd? i just tried that and it now seems to work??

I'm glad it is working, but I have never seen it be case sensitive before on the user name. It shows in the system in all lower case letters. I'll have to run some tests on that end.

ok. If it isn't to much trouble could you help me solve the calendar synch setup for my iPhone, iPad & outlook? i was hoping to receive and add all meetings to every device.

Are you seeing the calendar on the phone now? Did you turn on the option when setting it up? The ipad will be the exact same setup as the iphone. For Outlook, there is a little more to it. There is a connector software that needs to be installed.

 I can't get my IPhone6S to connect to mail server. The only thing I see out of place is that it doesn't pre-populate USERNAME as in step 5. Please advise, I'd like to be able to get my mail on my phone asap.

To use this configuration your email needs to be a suite. How do you plan on using email? are you sharing anything, or just sending and receiving mail?

Share anything like what - attachments? Probably not but potentially.
What do you means SUITE? The Homestead set up hasn't changed since last week when I was able to receive send and receive emails (though never delete) on my old phone. I just went to edit> Basic Info and that option is not even visible.

So what the? I'm supposed to upgrade and pay more $ for a suite accnt. but it worked on my old phone a week ago? And I pay for 2 sites, 2 emails, etc. etc.

Drew- thank you. Am I missing something where it says to use OTHER under Email accnt. types instead of Exchange in your tutorial between step 1 and 2?
