IMPORTANT - It is necessary to have your standard Hmail account converted to an Hmail Suite in order to support the added features (synchronization of email folders, calendar events and even email contacts). After converting to the Hmail Suite, please allow 15 minutes for the changes to take affect before proceeding with the instructions below.

Instructions for upgrading to an Hmail Suite

1. Open the standard Android email app and select the "Corporate" option as shown in the image below.

2. Enter your email address and password which you created on the Homestead website, and select the "Manual setup" option.

3. The email address field should auto-fill. In the Domain/username field enter the full email address. The password field should also auto-fill. In the Exchange server field enter "email.homestead.com". Leave the SSL box checked and select the "Next" button.

4. Some Android devices may give you a warning similar to that shown below. Continue by selecting the "OK" option.

5. You can edit/customize the sync settings, or just accept defaults and click the "Next" option to complete the setup.

6. You can give the account a name (optional), then click "next" to complete the process.

Make sure your password has at least 8 characters, upper and lower case letters and then double check all of your entries in step #3 to make sure there are no typos.

HI Irene0318,   Can you go to email.homestead.com and log in to your email account first?  This will rule out a problem with the password.  Then if you can log into the web mail ok, we need to focus on the settings on the phone. That error is almost always a typo in step #3 above.

Hi Mike,
Logging into the email on homestead is not an issue. I also normally use outlook and I am getting my emails.

I downloaded an app called K9 on my phone and I am getting the emails now. Really had preferred just adding it as corporate, but for once I want to utilize my phone properly now that I have a good smart phone.

Do you have any opinion on the K9 app?

The error message I kept getting was that there was no server response.
Thank you for any suggestions!

Yes.. I actually prefer the K9 app over the stock Android email application.  I personally ( and I've seen several customers )  had problems with the stock app not deleting emails when configured as IMAP, but K9 worked perfectly.

Did you ever get this issue resolved with getting  hmail added to your phone's exchange email account?

We have followed all the steps here and can login at email.homestead.com without issues. We are still getting a "login information incorrect" error. What are our options for an Android phone?

Hi,

Are you setting up the exchange box on a suite email?

I have followed the above directions and I have upgraded to Suite and I have doubled checked my password and it is fine. I go through the process and I said authentication failed. Suggestions?

What is the email address? Are you able to log in to the webmail? Where is the authentication failure happening? On incoming or outgoing?

We are having a similar problem, see my question above. The email is jason@canvasworksincmn.com

We are able to log in to webmail, the password has been triple checked and we are still getting an "login information incorrect" error.

Can you confirm that you have spelled everything correctly? In the domain, you do need to have the email address. I just set it up on my Galaxy Note 3 and it worked right away. Is it just this email address, or can you not get it to work on any of your suites?

Yes. I have followed all of the steps above repeatedly and triple checked the login information. I am still getting the login information incorrect error. I have not tried it with any other suites as none of them are needed on this phone.

Have you tried a 3rd party email app such as K-9 Mail?

Why are there so many people not able to use the hmail suite as it should be used.  Adding another app to the phone is ridiculous.  I tried to add mailwise and couldn't do that either.

I do apologize if you are experiencing difficulty getting this set up. We would be more than happy to try and help you get this set up for you. This is not a prevalent problem, and we can certainly try and figure out what the issue is.
