I am trying to modernize my site and I want a sliding home page as seen on this site http://kamigarcia.com/  but I don't see how I can do that on HS. There is the scrolling element, but the pics are attached to one another, which is not a clean look.

Hello  Michelle3081

This is actually not a feature we have available in the builder you are using. We have a newer builder we launched late 2016 called Website Builder. It has that feature available. It is also mobile responsive and generally creates more professional looking websites, so if you are looking to modernize, that would be the way to go. You would need to create a new site from Websites Manager in your Homestead account.

Thank you, Elyzabeth. Can you tell me how I get to Website Builder? I'm starting from scratch building it anyway, so moving to that is fine, but I want to use the same domain.. Can I do that? Do I have to transfer the domain name? I just need to know where to find website builder and how to maintain the domain. (I've had this website forever! It desperately needs to be updated.)

If you do get into that builder, here are the instructions for creating a sliding gallery https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/how-do-i-add-a-slideshow

Are you using Site Builder? If so, the Image Scroller is the only option there (I agree about the look with the constant scroll. It needs more options for us to customize it) or you can insert your own HTML coding. You can search the web to find free examples, but some basic coding skills are helpful. Otherwise, they want you to rebuild your whole website in the newer Website Builder. The options there much more closely resemble the look you are going for.
I hope that helps!

Thanks for your answer, Kristi. Where do I find Website Builder? Do I have to transfer my domain name in order to keep it, or is that done automatically?

You would just need to log into your Homestead account, click on the Websites Manager tab, click "Add New Website". Give it a temporary site name and start building!
Once you are done building it, you can switch your domain site association through the Domains tab, no need to transfer it.
