Hi Joe1448,
Welcome to the community!
Unfortunately, Sitebuilder Desktop does not work with Windows 8, the only option would be to use Sitebuilder Plus (the browser based editor).
Please let me know if you'd like for me to change your account over to Sitebuilder Plus, or if you'd prefer to keep Sitebuilder Desktop, if you're able to use another computer to maintain your site.
I look forward to your response, thanks!
Ehsan

Hi Ehsan
I have tried to run Site Builder in compatibility mode for Win7 on a Win8 machine as suggested in another thread - no joy, I now get a message that I need a virtual machine to run Site Builder. I do have other Win 7 machines where I could maintain my websites but my "main computer" is this Win8.
Can you tell me if it will be worth a try with vm ware? If you change the account to Site Builder Plus, what does that entail? Costs?
Thanks a lot, regards from Namibia

Hi Alexandra,
I apologize for the delay - There is no additional cost for the use of Sitebuilder Plus, I'll just need to make the change on my end.
I personally would recommend giving that a try that way you're not spending money unnecessarily (on vm ware).
Please let me know if you'd like to try plus first.
I look forward to your response, thanks!

I cannot access your website from my home computer since purchasing a new computer with Windows 8, I cannot update my website. Help! It lkeeps saying "This page cannot be displayed". This has been going on since December. I have already tried removing the firewall and antivirus setting as instructed. It did not work.

Hi Willie -
Sorry about the problems you're having with Windows 8! Please see Ehsan's reply above. Sitebuilder Desktop does not work with Windows 8, unfortunately.
Also, if you are just trying to log into your Homestead account, IE10 (internet explorer), we've heard other customer's having difficulty, so we recommend using Firefox to log in.
Please let me know if you're interested in switching to Sitebuilder Plus.
Thanks,
Aubrey

Hi Aubrey, I kept my old computer with Windows 9 to edit my site but really need to do it with my new one with windows 8. Can you activate the Plus option for me if there is still no fix for Windows 8? Thanks

Thanks Aubrey, ok, one more problem. I did keep my old windows 7 (don't know where I came up with that "9" on my initial inquiry). There use to be a toggle between sitebuilder and light. Now that you switched me to Plus, do I not still have the option of going back to the old computer and using sitebuilder? Thanks, Bruce

Hi Bruce,
Good question! We do have a way to make it so that you have access to both desktop and Plus, but please keep in mind that this option does not support Master Templates, Intuit Web Payment, and Traffic Booster. It is highly recommended to be on "SiteBuilder Plus only" to take advantage of new features... but if you're OK with not using those features, I can make it so that you can use both.
Please let me know how you wish to proceed!

Hello Jorge, Just letting you know your account has been converted to SiteBuilder Plus. To access the new software, you'll now need to log into your account on www.homestead.com and click the Websites Manager link. Thanks

I've responded to your post there as well - You'll need to follow up with the billing manager.
Thank you,
