how can I rotate photos that are sideways or upside down.

In the editor, click the image and use the rotate button.

Some new cameras add code to the image that stops Sitebuilder from doing this. In these cases you need to open the image in an image editor like Microsoft Paint and save it as a new image. Then upload and use the new image on the site.
