I've added an image that inserts rotated. There are no visible controls to rotate the image to be upright. Even when I saved the image in another app as pre-anti-rotated 90 degrees under a different name it arrives into the Homestead editor as yet again rotated the same way.

There is probably a help article on this, but I suspect that you are importing from an iphone, which for whatever reason, does this to photo imports all the time. This is an issue that Apple doesn't seem to care about.  It is about HOW you hold the phone when you take the picture.  Try to keep the camera on the upper left if taking horizontal pictures.  So for the ones you have taken and are trying to put on your site, you will have to send them to Photoshop/Photoshop Elements or some other photo program and manually rotate them outside of Homestead, then send them off to your site.  A pain now, but now you also know how to avoid it in the future!   Best of luck!!
