Can the Image scroller in the on-Line version of Homestead Sitebuilder be updated to allow removal of a single picture, and the ability to re-arrange them?  This would help change information easier.
Right now, we have to delete the scroller and build a new one.

Thanks Mark.  I agree with you.  Hopefully, this can happen in the future.

Thanks

YES, I do indeedy like this!  I believe was a motorcycle/HAWGS site that I was sent to, to have a look at 3 of these image scrollers and I WOULD put these right on my homepage!  What a wonderful way to show more than just one product at a time to drag people into your site.  Are you saying this cannot be done presently?  But I hand wrote all the "How To" Mike put on the Community the other night.  That next morning is when we got the phone call no one ever wants.  Our large family all have a horrible tragedy weighing heavy on our hearts.  Our precious nephew's son either was murdered or shot himself in his left temple but, he is right-handed.  His name is Christian, just turned 18, had the girlfriend every young man wants, a dream job, working sound boards with 4 other guys twice his age in a floating theater where big name bands perform.  He always gave big bear hugs along with "I love you" and I miss him so much.  I cannot type anymore.  Hug and kiss your children a million times a day they ARE worth it.  Have a great week end  Teresa 7603

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled When I try to save after making corrections to a page, it stays greayed out.

I am trying to change photos in an existing scrollable widget from the content menu. When I add a new photo and try to save the page the saved icon stays greyed out. even after existing sitebuilder and coming back in the icon is stilled grayed. Funny thing when I go to the website the correct slideshow is playing but when I go to preview the old slideshow runs.  Problem is I need to make another change to the photos in the slideshow. I can not seem to make it happen.

Same story! once I place a picture on the image Scroller, I cannot seem to remove it. If this is true then we have a real problem here. If it is not, I like to know how to delete the pictures.  Thanks

Funny, I don't know where that scroll of pix from my pix folder came from.  I never set it up!.  I also had 4 credit cards hit, someone going phishing.  AOL is now back. All I need is my Homestead Sitebuilder.  The message that comes up instead of the page in my web site says "Sorry, but that page no longer exists or has been moved.  Now there are some hateful people in my family, no Idea why, but I really don't believe they would mess up my website, actually they wouldn't know how LOL.  How will I know if someone knows what happened, and how to fix it?

Teresa7603, You can't remove a single image. You just need to remove the entire scroller and add it back with the desired images. If you still have an issue with the scrolling, then tell us which page.

The ability to delete pics from an existing image scroller was requested above 10 months ago. For the amount of money we pay this company why cant something as simple as this be improved in a more speedy manner. It should be as simple as allowing us to delete the text in the settings box.
I have been with homestead for 17 years and sometimes I seriously wonder why I stick with it - especially with utterly no site builder for Mac. The sheer lack of progress in the past 5 or 6 years shows it doesnt give a toss about its long term customer base.

I would think rearranging the image order or deleting one from the list would be a relatively simple update.  This is a major inconvenience, as others have also stated above.

We have been with Homestead for many years and I agree, come on folks!  Let's get the image scroller issue fixed.  We all like to update photos and the only way to do it is to delete the whole scroller and build a new one!  should not happen this way!

I don't have any update on this issue, but we do have some related information in a recently published article.

Are carousels bad for SEO?

So rather than provide an actual solution for a basic function that we all personally like and use - you spend time writing an article about why you dislike the specific function.

Really productive !

And again I wonder why I pay cold hard cash to you guys for 17 years. Oh - maybe because you also hold everything hostage making its basically impossible for us to transfer everything to a new providor.

I am sorry you feel that way. The article is meant to inform people about the state and weight of items they choose to place on the website. This is not a personal opinion, it is the rule of thumb in the SEO community that these elements can harm your site, and in most cases do not serve as a positive influence on the site. This is not necessarily universal and a set of rotating images may be good for you, but many people are now replacing sliders and scrollers with static images.

In no way was the link to the article supposed to imply that the scroller will not be updated at some point. We still are considering the options, however, there are other items that will be more likely to provide positive impact than this at this time, and therefore have a higher priority. One example is the large group of new fonts that were added to Sitebuilder Plus on Wednesday.

After reading that article (and finding similar articles on Google), I removed the slider from my company's website.  I still like sliders, but don't want it to hurt my rankings or make my site look dated.

12/5/16 - I found this thread because I'm trying to figure out how to delete and re-arrange images in the image scroll. Is there an update on this, or is the only solution still to delete the element and rebuild it? Please don't tell me I shouldn't use this element, as I know that. But, I'm not in charge of re-building our site. I simply want to know how to work with this existing element on our site and make it better.

You will need to delete the scroller and add a new one. Sorry for the news.

Drew posted this link above. The content is even more relevant today. Also, the new program, WebsiteBuilder, has a drop down menu option along with several other updated options.

Terrible; that's such a simple process. Yo need to change it. I continue to be disappointed that you do not have drop down windows, and now this... after all these years.

The new Websitebuilder does have drop downs and a host of other things that customers have desired. Unfortunately, sites can't be ported, so you do need to make a new site. You can create a new site at anytime and it will use the new builder if you want to check it out. You can still keep the old site up and running until you want to change over.

So not only does Homestead prevent us from moving our sites elsewhere - it doesn't even let us transfer between its own builders ? Ridiculous. I have thousands of pages to my various sites. The sooner some bright spark builds a decent migrator tool I am out of here.
