Good afternoon. I am looking into redesigning a client's current website (I am posting from her account). Thus far, I have only had experience with design and do not know much about domains and hosting, so I have a few questions:

- Am I correct in assuming you need to go through the SiteBuilder to publish a website on Homestead? In other words, if I were to redesign either from scratch with HTML/CSS or use another site builder such as a Wordpress theme, would the client need to transfer to another hosting site?

- If the client does decide a transfer is necessary, is there any cost associated with keeping her current domain?

I hope this was clear, and I look forward to hearing back from you.

We are designed to only use Sitebuilder. Wordpress will not work as Homestead does not support php.

You can code from scratch using Sitebuilder. From within the editor you can add code to the header and using an html element, you can add the body code. I have seen people do this.

If you choose to build the site somewhere else, then you may transfer the domain or you can simply point the domain from here to there. We can have he account set to domain hosting, which means we just maintain the domain for $15/year and she can use the domain with any host by pointing.
