Firstly, I am more than happy with Homestead and have several sites built and housed here...and will continue to do so!

My quesion is, I currently have a Homestead site with a domain (purchased elsewhere) pointing at it . I now need to point the domain at a new website not based/built at Homestead.

Do I simply "Delete The Domain" within the "Domains" options, and then get the new host site to arrange the new pointing of the address, and are there any time issues with the deleting/re-pointing that I need to be aware of?

Many thanks...I want to get this right!

Hello David,

Happy to hear that feedback! Yes, that is correct if you would like to point the domain to another host you can delete the domain from your Homestead account and point the name server or A record to the new host from your domain registrars account. Typically changing name servers can take up to 24 hours to propagate so there might be a small windrow of downtime.

Credit where credit is due...been with Homestead for many years!

Thanks for the clarification....always best to check and I knew I’d receive a prompt answer.

Many thanks.

When looking at the 2 sites that are connected to a website builder site. I do see those site loading up very quickly on my end. Unfortunately there is nothing more I can do for that other than checking your internet speed and maybe clearing the cache on your browser.

It’s the latter (Please delete the names on this thread)...even with cache cleared and a fast connection it is often slow on some smart phones, in my experience/feedback.

I will test it on a few more devices and send feedback to the appropriate people to see if there is anything we can do on our end to speed things up.
