When I edit my website the pictures are oriented the right way but when I go to publish 2 of my pictures rotate. On my computer the look fine but if I look on my phone they are rotated as well some other people have said the pictures are rotated when they looked on a computer too. How do I resolve this issue?

Hello,

Open the image on your computer and rotate it, even if it shows its already upright, re save it under a new name then upload it with the new name.

Although the image is showing correctly on the published website, the rotate image feature in the Sitebuilder plus software is not a permanent fix. I am still seeing that this image is stored in the original rotated position in the file manager. Since the all the information is pulled from the file manager it may be possible that at some point upon publishing in the future this image can be reverted back to what is shown in the file manager. You will then need to rotate it again and republish. To avoid this from occurring I would strongly recommend re-uploading once more. Start by opening the image on your computer, rotating it upright, (even if it shows upright rotate it 360 degrees) and save it as a new file, try Margie_pic_cropped2.jpg. Then upload it to the editor as a brand new image and it should show correctly.

I have already uploaded the images numerous times. With different names upright, with different names rotated. The point is that if you upload an image in the right orientation, it should STAY that way. It is interesting that things work as they should in MS Edge but remain squirrely in Chrome.

I only see 1 copy of that image uploaded to the file manager which is this only image in there that is rotated. If you can please try this once more and upload it under a new name so we see 2 separate uploads I can investigate further but unfortunately I can only go based of what I see currently.

Okay, now I have uploaded two different images, named according to the orientation they were in while on my desktop, before upload. Their names are PHOTO Penny_Phillips1 Uploaded UPRIGHT, and PHOTO Penny _Philips1 Uploaded ROTATED. When I publish the UPRIGHT one, it is rotated. When I publish the ROTATED one, it is upright but stretched out of proportion, and still therefore unacceptable. Both are in my File Manager now. And, by the way, I must have some older/cheaper version of SiteBuilder because I do not seem to have any ability to rotate the images while in SiteBuilder. I literally have to rotate the files on my computer and then upload them. All this was done in Chrome. Interestingly, everything works in MS Edge, uploads fine, publishes fine, looks fine in the live site, but then I look at the live site in Chrome, and it is wrong, even after refreshing the page.

This is the process we recommend to correct the uploads. Unfortunately if you don't see this option, it sounds like you may be using the desktop version which is very outdated. Sitebuilder plus is also becoming obsolete due to the technology it was created for. The best thing for you to do in order to obtain the best experience, for you as the webmaster and also for your customers viewing the site, is to utilize WebsiteBuilder. This is our newest builder which will alleviate all these issues. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/why-should-i-change-to-homestead-websitebuilder
