Does anyone know why the paypal donation button on sitebuilder only allows a set amount to be donated. I run a nonprofit foundation and need the button to allow donators to select the maount they would like to donate and not a set amount. Please help as we are a foundation that supports children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders and want to be able to take donations on our site

Hello Clive,

I certainly understand your need for that feature. We offer a very basic donation solution with the Paypal button. If you need it to be more advanced (allow people to input their own donation amounts) you would need to find a 3rd party donation form that allows that, and get the coding for that to place on your website.

I use the embed HTML feature and use this:
<form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr"; method="post" target="_top">
<input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick">
<input type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="76T7N3R2YVBFN">
<input type="image" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_donateCC_LG.gif"; border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!">
<img alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif"; width="2" height="2">
</form>
It gives me a nice little graphic that says donate and when you click on it it takes you to PayPal and allows folks to put in any amount.

I think I found it on PayPal as a button designed for us but it doesn't look like our name or anything is in the html I sent you, but there is that "hidden" name.  I would try it, put in in and preview or publish and test it.  Maybe go to your PayPal account and look for buttons.

You will get the code from Paypal when you are logged into your account, so they will customize a code specifically for your account.
