Desktop vs SB+ vs new Web Builder

I built my original site back in 2006 on Desktop using blank pages and my own templates.  I have updated and revamped over the years using both Desktop and SB+.  Now the push is for the new Web Builder that offers only pre-formatted templates.  I understand that my existing site cannot be transferred over to the new builder but must be redone from scratch.  Is this even possible to use your own templates to make the site look and feel like my original site? If so are there any tutorials to build a site from scratch on Web Builder without using pre-formatted templates?  I would like to stick with SB+ (and believe it or not I can actually still use Desktop)....  Will  SB+ and Desktop continue to be supported or am I a dinosaur?

Miss Linda - In the info I sent you on the new builder I said that you can choose any template, delete all the elements and then build your own.  :)  Also there isn't a tutorial for building from scratch, but there are some on various aspects of using the builder under the WebsiteBuilder category. Drew will need to address the issue about support for SB+ and desktop for you.

Just dive in Linda, you're a smart cookie and will get it figured out in no time I'm sure!

hmmm...thank you Susan, I abstained from bugging you anymore.  I know you said I could delete elements, I tried and then cried.  I can't yet figure it out but will continue to see if I can do it.  Does it matter what template I choose to dismember?

Unfortunately this "smart cookie" feels like she is losing her edge.  :(

No, it doesn't matter which template you choose to dismember. Just click on an element and a small edit box will open and there is a garbage can on it. Click on it and the element will disappear.

And you don't bug me. I've just been in less than stellar shape so was a bit slow.

Quit the cryin, put on the big girl britches and sally forth. The thing can be a bit daunting, but you can't break it!  :)

We have many customers that still like to use both Sitebuilders. At this time there are no plans to discontinue either one. In the new Websitebuilder, you must select a template, but you may delete everything on it and start from scratch that way. You can delete elements or sections and add more too. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/categories/homestead_websitebuilder has some tutorials. Anything started by myself or Homestead FAQ(with the Homestead logo) will be a tutorial.

You may also post questions that I can answer for you. If you decide to make a new site and want to use Sitebuilder instead, then just let me know the new site name and I will convert it for you so you can use Sitebuilder.
