Is it common to have that much in your multi line text box? There may be a limit. I am checking.

It is common but it also happened with a short property description.

I have the same problem - although my multi box info is only a small portion -but again - unprofessional look Homestead - why was this all changed without advising earlier - it is very annoying - ugly and much preferred the old way!

Can you post an image? I am sorry if you don't like the format. It was changed to make it more readable and so far most people have said they really like it better.

I like it too, but it needs to function for me. This did not happen with old format.

I agree. We are still looking. I can't make it cut off to this point, so it doesn't appear to be universal.

Also, Joe, when you contact the person that filled out the form, they had entered more than was delivered to you? Are they able to tell you exactly what was after the cut off?

Also, some have been fine.

These are property legal descriptions. I usually just have them fax or send pdf document in the cases this has happened. I would have to compare these documents with submissions to find exactly where they are cutting off. The first image was the first large description that has done this the others have cut off less than 10 lines into description.

If you are able to see any consistency in why it might cut off, like the first character not see is the same or something of that sort. We have not been able to make this happen in any way. If we can see it happen it will be impossible to fix.

Next character causing cut off might be an apostrophe

I'll look into that and get back to you tomorrow.

Thank you. Would you mind if I made a copy of your form page and tested with it? If you don't mind, I'll call it ztest or something so that it will be at the very bottom of your page list. This way I can change the submission email and see if I can make it happen on a form that has seen the problem already

Any box I put an apostrophe in, the apostrophe and anything after does not go through. Hope this helps and hope you can fix this.

It is strange as I had that issue earlier with another customer, but on my form it doesn't cause an issue. Still looking though.

Also, Joe do you mind if I make that copy of the page so I can test on your form. When I fill out mine, the apostrophe does not seem to cause a problem

You might also try publishing the page again. Maybe remove one element and add it back again. If this worked you would need to replace each one in order so the form email comes in the right order.

My forms are totally a mess and I do not know if I have to remake the complete form into single lines to get an easily readable and easily workable amount of information.
Prior to this big "clean-up/update" I was able to copy and paste the information from the e-mail into an excel sheet to do mailings in an accurate and clean paste. Now I have to take the form-mess that is emailed to me, copy and paste into word to break down into the format that it used to come into and then put into excel.
This reminds me of the days when computers were first starting and the programmers asked management what they wanted the screen to show and didn't ask the people that used the form.

I also have been getting an e-mail post that the original response form has been changed to a different response form. Believe me, I already figured this out.

If this is going to be the new and updated format, then I will have to figure out a different way to get my contacts to have an easy way to get information to me.

I am very happy that what I offer is simple. I am not happy that I am going to have to rewrite the information that used to be simple for those that contacted me through my website now will have to be inconvenienced completing a form because I have to be able to read what they are entering.

I think there may be information that is missing, but I won't know until I re-create the form.

e-mail is Stars4ourTroops@aol.com

I am sorry Susan. Let us know if you do see missing data. The changes made to the email were made as a result of customer comments. The vast majority of customers found the form submission emails to be too difficult to read. Can you post an image of what your form email looks like? A few prople do seem to have some cut off data, but other than that it should be formatted for easy reading.

I have added examples of new and old formats for two different pages that I have forms.  I removed much information to make sure people and their identity is safe.

The boxes are missing with the new format when it was pasted into this reply which makes it look nicer than it is when received in e-mail.

The information received prior to the update made it easy for me to take directly from the e-mail and put into the excel sheet that I use for mailing labels.

The Message is put into a card in word format.

The only way that I can do as I did before is copy and paste into word the information from the e-mail and then copy and paste into the different aspects of what needs to be done.

The above is from another section of the website where we offer instructions for people wishing to become Star Makers.  It was so much easier to read the old format.

Part of the problem is I don't know if the client has actually filled out the form because of the way I receive the information. The old way, the client filled in the information and I was able to read it easily.

As I am the webmaster, responder to e-mails, oganizer of all postal mailings, I enjoyed the simplicity of the original format. I will now need to create a new format that responds to the way Homestead has "upgraded" the use of the forms.
