Yesterday - 11-18-16, I reported that in your new SiteBuilder software - the Widget for adding html didn't work.  When I called toward the end of the day, they said it should be fixed sometime over the weekend.  Is it fixed yet?

I am sorry for the confusion. We never make code changes on the weekends. They are working on it. What are you trying to do? You should be able to build the rest of your site, and maybe there is something built in for the task you require.

I've had some issues as well, but am wondering if the site has to be published before the codes will render properly?

It should not need to be. This is on our end and we are working on it.

The HTML box should now be active. Please try adding it and seeing if it functions now.

I tried adding some features via HTML plugin earlier this evening and still shown 404 error when the page is published. It works effectively when the page is in editing and / or preview mode.

I just tried again and it's still not publishing properly.  I agree that I can see the code in the editor, but get a 404 error in the published version.  See this page - http://surefitdesignsnew.homesteadcloud.com/sew-with-confidence - it's toward the bottom left.

@Glenda, your site is looking really good so far. I can't wait to see the finished product. My page is tmsound716.homesteadcloud.com if you want to take a look. Ive been working on it slowly but surely and hoping that all of our new features will be available soon. I'm not putting the new site online until everything has the green light.

hmmm well I just tried a Pay Pal button and it didn't work, also created a regular button and linked it to another site and it didn't work. The links between pages in the menu work, but they always have except for the glitch with drop downs. No joy!

Drew, as far as I could tell when I tried last night it was working. Susan may have an issue with the coding.

Drew the Pay Pal button is on all the pages. The submit button on the form Home page and Contact page also doesn't work. Facebook link on all pages doesn't work. And when I added a regular button and tried linking it to email and a URL it didn't work either. Other than that it's just peachy. ha

There is a bunch of what looks like junk code at the bottom of the Paypal code. Are you sure that the code is good from Paypal? I have never generated a Paypal button at Paypal.

Did you still have an issue with Facebook HTML? or were you using the built in social icons?

I created my own button and embedded the code as there was some issue when I tried to create using the built in - can't remember what. BUT I just went to give the built in another try and my Widget option is gone - it was there earlier as I used it to embed the PP code. Have closed out and logged in again a couple times and it is still MIA.  LMAO

Fooled with the built in and it wouldn't give me the ability to link - that just remained greyed out.
Went back to the image button, added link and the pop-up below is what happens when I click on the FB button. If I click Yes on that pop-up then it goes to the link. I do have open in a new window checked on the editor - tried unchecking it with the same results. So what stupid thing am I doing now?  :)

The built in one seems to be working on my site. It sort of looks greyed out, but I was still able to update the URL. I am talking about the social icons that are likely already on the page with the template. I also did the follow button and it worked as well. I did this on my site, but will try on your site if you like.

The pop up is something I have not yet decided if I like. It will do that regardless of have the new tab checked, but only from preview. It is reminding you that you are in the editor and not live. When you publish, that message will not appear. As I said, I still am not sure about that one.

Good lovely morning.
My vote on that pop-up is make it go bye-bye.

In the image below it shows the two different buttons. Top one is the one I imported and linked and where that pop-up appears.

The second one (the round button) is from the insert widget for the social media buttons. (I don't use a template). Click on it and the little black edit bar appears, but when I click on link nothing happens. BUT I clicked on the Manage Social Icons in the editor and was able to insert the URL. It worked in preview (except for that funky pop-up).

So, I think I'm fixed as far as the FB thing goes, but you are more than welcome to go in and poke around if you want.

My html widgets appear to be publishing correctly.  However, when you try to use them they don't work.  The View Cart, Google Language Translation, and the Get Response newsletter sign up form don't work at all.  I reported this by phone.  The reply I received was -

'We have looked a little bit closer into the code, and while it appears the code may seem correct, it appears we may be running into some code incompatibility with the current builder. We will certainly provide the code to our development so they can look at the behavior of how the HTML is responding to your website, but we cannot guarantee we will find a resolution for the 3rd party coding. For now, if it is possible to request simpler HTML for these features, it may assist with the actual functionality of the HTML code, but again, we cannot guarantee it will work as intended.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.'

I then replied with this comment -

'This is a major problem if in fact it is a compatibility issue with your new builder because it seems to me that there will be many more customers than just myself, who’s html snippets don’t work properly when published either – I can’t be the only one.

I’ve been a Homestead customer for years.  I’ve asked repeatedly, as I know many others have, for software that has drop-down menu capabilities, and I was extremely excited to begin using it.  I’m willing to wait, but it seems to me that there must be a solution to this.  Please let me know if there are any further developments for at this point in time, it’s a waste of my time to continue building out my pages.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.'

Is there anyone in the community who has had similar issues?  And if so did you come to any resolution or work-around.

I can't see how the processing of HTML code would be incompatible. If it is valid code, then it should run, but I can try taking a look at the code and what is happening when you run it. There may be some sort of conflict that we are not aware of. Please also provide the corresponding page on the old site so we can view how the behaviors differ.

Hi Drew.  I’m not familiar with Glenda’s “Get Response Newsletter” or “View Cart” issue but I AM getting the same problem with the Google Translation Button or code issue.

I spoke with a very nice and helpful tech person yesterday over the phone and she understood and duplicated the issue with me.  She “passed it on” to the developers to address the issue.

On my desktop Sitebuilder site, everything works fine and instantaneously with the Google translate.

After I load the code and the HTML on the new builder, when you click on a language to translate, it says “translation in progress 0%” and never changes from that.  That has never, ever happened on the desktop Sitebuiulder.

Just to verify, (and everything was done with the tech yesterday) for the new builder,  this “meta code,” is placed in the Site Meta Tags on the advanced settings:

<meta name="google-translate-customization" content="c451f2d55798342-1d17094a7208b43a-gdff28df884e7ad01-17"></meta>

Then, this HTML Widget code is place on every page where you want the Google Translate to be:

<div id="google_translate_element"></div><script type="text/javascript">

function googleTranslateElementInit() {

  new google.translate.TranslateElement({pageLanguage: 'en'}, 'google_translate_element');

}

</script><script type="text/javascript" src="//translate.google.com/translate_a/element.js?cb=googleTranslateElementInit"></script>

This is the way it’s done on the Sitebuilder with no problems.  Like I said, the tech verified and duplicated the issue on their end and “passed it on.”

Sorry, I just realized the google adsense ad is there, just did not pull up right away.

Drew, (sorry I'm so late in replying to what page examples are working on my current site - see http://www.surefitdesigns.com/ - the home page - this has on it the View Cart, the Google Translation widget and at the bottom my Get Response sign-up form - all are working as they should.  These codes appear on every page of my current site.

As you've read, another customer - Ken - experienced the same thing I did - his Google Translate code didn't publish properly.  Mine didn't either but I never reported that instance in my first post - because I figured I could live without the translate widget, but I couldn't live without my Get Response newsletter html or my View Cart html code.

I knew I couldn't possibly be the only customer who was experiencing this same result.  There is nothing wrong with the html code for as Ken stated, it works perfectly when using the old desk top Sitebuilder, or your online Sitebuilder.

I really hope something can be done about this as it's impossible to use the newest SiteBuilder without the html working like it's supposed to.

The HTML boxes are working, but the HTML box was implemented in a different fashion that is causing some things to appear not to work(which is as good as not working). The developers are aware and are working to implement the box differently.
