Need to place our account and website "on vacation" since we are closing our business temporarily.  How can this be done?

Hi Bruce3195,

Just to be clear, are you wanting to close your account and reactivate it later, when needed? Or are you wanting to place a message on your site indicating that it is temporarily unavailable, but keep your account open?
The first option will bring your site and domain down and will also stop billing. You would need to reactivate the account by 11-17-2018 to prevent your domain from expiring.
The second option will leave a message of your choice on your website and the account will continue billing. This will keep your domain on auto renew.

If I close the account, as mentioned above what happens to the email addresses and mail sent there to?

The email addresses and mail saved in your inboxes would be deleted. All new mail will be bounced back.

If you need to keep the email, we would just unpublish your site or do what themieleman suggested and put an "on vacation" splash page on your site.

You can create a image to cover the home page menu. "On Vacation", Coming back "date".
