I just started using the online version of Homestead today and the some of the pictures on my home page are crooked. They look fine when I'm in the site, but are moved when I look at the actual site. It's just on the home page. www.craftshowbooklet.com What happened? It was fine until I logged on to this online version and now it's a mess! I didn't even move anything!

Good morning,

I am not sure I see what you mean. The pictures don't look crooked at all. Can you elaborate?

Crooked isn't the right term to use, sorry. "Out of place" is probably better. Click on "Home" the click on "2013 booklet still available". The "2013 booklet still available" page is the way it should be. The "Home" page has pictures moved. The vase on the top is lower and the pictures on the side are moved to the right instead of lined up. It's like this on the pages that I republished after I started using Homestead online. The weird thing is, when I go to Homestead online to fix it, there's nothing wrong with the way they look! Everything is lined up like the "2013 booklet still available" page so there is nothing to fix! It just looks like this when you go to the site. ????

I see, yes, newer browsers reserve a padding on the edges. Older coding isn't always affected, but newer is. You can eliminate it using CSS code.

I have taken a screen shot of some code you can use. Place it in the head tag, under page settings.

It worked on some of the pages. It made the others even worse. Check it out: www.craftshowbooklet.com. I'm still fooling around with it.

I've got all of the pages in line now. I had to delete everything on the page, copy it from one of the other pages, paste it and then copy and paste the code you gave me, then publish the page, then log out, then log in and do another page. ???? Oh, well. It's okay now. Thanks for your help Drew. Any idea when desktop publisher for windows 8.1 is going to be fixed?

I am surprised you had to do all that, but I am glad it worked.

We have had success with getting 8.1 to work. You can follow these instructions. Make sure you follow all the steps carefully.

I tried to follow the instructions to get Homestead desktop to work and keep getting the same error message when I try to open it.

I am sorry. I suggest that you call support during the week, or opening an online chat. If need be a representative can open a remote session and try to figure out what has gone wrong.

Unfortunately, this is not a great venue for further work. It is best done live.

Drew
