Up through January of 13, our hits had averaged over 700 per week. At that time they began to drop and continue to do so until we are now at 250 per week. I signed up for Ad web services a few weeks ago, but they continue to decline. I need to increase my links. Is there anything I have to be aware of with the search engines' current algorithms? And what else can I do? I have a publishing website and our business has never been local--primarily national and international. Here's the address: www.havescripts.com

Hi HaveScripts,

Looks like you've already chatted with another representative about this. Please let me know if you have any other questions, thanks!

Hi HaveScripts,

I do see why you are concerned. If you look at the graph, it shows that your traffic is quite cyclical. The last four peaks on the graph, indicate that the traffic from last year is substantially lower than the peak from the three previous years.

The graph below shows that there were 3 weeks in the last 5 years where the traffic reached 700 visitors per week. Realistically you are averaging between 350 and 400 visitors per week. It's really very hard to say why there was such a noticeable drop. It could be changes in the the search algorithms, competing websites, stale information on your site, or a combination of these things.

You will probably want to focus on your organic search results. If you are not familiar with the whole Search Engine Optimization process there are many good resources on the internet and you can likely teach yourself the process. If you don't have the time or desire to learn SEO, we do offer a service. Let us know if you have more questions.

Mike
