My website is showing no visitors this month and I know people are visiting it. Why is this happening?

Hello,

The reason the site stats are not showing currently is due to the site not having a ssl or security layer set up yet. Once this is set up the site stats will start tracking and displaying accordingly. To set up the ssl please follow these steps. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/can-i-secure-my-homestead-website-with-https

Michelle, I'm not seeing how to do that on website builder.  my website brittanydgifts.com is showing "not secure" and giving bad messages to potential customers.  Can you help me resolve?  It was working fine earlier today.

Hello,

Did you recently connect the domain to a WebsiteBuilder site? I still see cloudflare name servers, since you are utilizing WebsiteBuilder you no longer need to be connected to cloudflare as Homestead has an auto ssl for these sites.

What you want to do is reset the nameservers to default with these instructions. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/how-do-i-change-the-nameservers-for-my-domain
On step 5 click on reset to defaults, next to edit your nameservers.

The same is happening with me. I've been managing my site for 4 years and never had this problem. No hits since June 5.

Hello cvnewcomers0339

I believe that was around the date we started seeing sites that are not secure not being able to display stats. We are working on getting sites that do not have a ssl applied to it back up and running but for a more immediate fix to this apply the ssl with the instructions here https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/can-i-secure-my-homestead-website-with-https  and your site statistics will begin to function again.

I saw this answer to someone else's question, but I don't think I have the Plus version. Just the starter package. Can I still go ahead?

Yes go ahead and proceed, this security feature is allowed to be applied to all packages as long as you have a domain.

Just checked my statistics for yesterday...there is obviously a problem again! I've been through the Cloudflare fix.  Please get this squared away!

My stats came back yesterday and my site is not secured, so it appears that things are on the mend.

Like Richard, I've done the Cloudflare fix. After the fix, stats worked again for a while, but for the last few days, they are not working again, even though my site is secure.

Hunter6159, looks like the stats kicked back in today for both of the websites that I manage.  I'm not sure why, I didn't change or do anything. Just an FYI...

Thanks Richard--  I see that mine seem to be working again, too.  I hope it they stay that way this time!

Hard to believe, but they've stopped working again.  This is getting very frustrating.  I may be switching to another company for my website.  In the past couple of months alone, my site became unsecure and I had to go through a process on my own to secure it, the stats have stopped working 3-4 times, and when forms were submitted from my website, an error message would appear.  I never really had problems in the 8 years before this, but now all of a sudden problems keep appearing.

Hunter, I do apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing. Real stats tracker is something we are working on getting to function back at 100% and some changes put in place unfortunately are causing intermittent issues. I want you to understand Sitebuilder plus is an older software and if you are considering moving to a new company why not just rebuild in your current Homestead account using WebsiteBuilder? This will eliminate the stats issue you are currently experiencing. Also, it will give you a more modern site and soft ware, updated and fully functioning stats reports, a mobile friendly aspect, automatic SSL and it will be more beneficial overall. Again I am truly sorry about this and it is something our engineers are working towards resolving, please also consider using WebsiteBuilder for a better experience.

Hunter, When I saw your post I immediately checked my websites and found that the stats functions were continuing to record as expected.  Michelle can probably verify, but I think I'm still using Sitebuilder Plus?  I wasn't aware that a newer version is available?

Yes Richard, you are using Sitebuilder plus also. This is not something that is affecting all Sitebuilder plus sites it is only a small number of accounts.
Homestead has release a newer software called WebsiteBuilder! There is no additional charge and you are welcome to start a new site using it, if you do build a website you like you can attach your domain to it at anytime. Here are some instructions to get started in WebsiteBuilder. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/how-do-i-create-a-new-site

I'm seeing the same issue...sort of.  Under totals shows one number but then shows all visitors as returning and only shows 2 or 3 unique visitors.  I've used WebsideBuilder and have removed the Cloudfire specs as requested to do.  Any ideas?

Hello,

Are you looking at stats on the left from within the builder? Double check to make sure you are not setting up any filters when viewing the stats. When I view the stats for brittanydgifts.com in WebsiteBuilder I see 68 unique visits and 72 total.
