Hello,

Have you tried different browsers? If it is still not working, you can upload the video as a YouTube video, and put it on the site that way.

You would upload it onto YouTube then get the link and put it on the Homestead YouTube video player.

Here is how to upload it to YouTube. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/57407?hl=en

Ok.  Right now I'm using firefox.  When I go to preview it, all I see is the logo for quicktime, but no buttons to chose play.  Should I try to view it in explorer then?

I would try Chrome or Explorer or both.

Yes.  I did.  And it just shows with the quicktime logo.  No controllers.

I loaded the Quicktime ap, but same problem exists. I'm unable to run a .mov video on my website.

The problem with your video could be the (#.mov) format is not being accepted on the internet browser, most browsers only seem to accept certain formats (#ogg, #.mp4, or #.webm).  I recently learned from YouTube videos on the subject and you need to convert a (#.mov) to the acceptable formats using the free download and installation on my computer the miro video converter (go to the site at http://www.mirovideoconverter.com/).   Once you download and install this on your computer, open the converter.

1.       Go to the folder you have your video saved.

2.       Drag the video file over to the converter and drop on the box in the middle.

3.       Go to the bottom right and click on the ’Format’ button and make the selection for Theora (ogg) to covert and save in the same folder that your video is located.

4.       Do this for converting the video to mp4 and save in the same folder.

5.       Do this again for converting the video to the webm and save in the same folder.

6.       This will give you a video in the three formats that are widely used for the browsers (unfortunately Internet Explorer browser is not accepting the HTML5 format).

Now that you have the video converted, you can use the following example of the HTML coding to your webpage for the video to run in the supported browsers.  It worked with my template and tested with Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome browsers.  (Be sure to upload the different video format files to your webpage files).

<video id="my_video" controls="controls"  preload="none" tabindex="0" poster="dog.jpg" width="550" height="350">

   <source src="rocky_movie.ogv" type="video/ogg">

   <source src="rocky_movie.mp4" type="video/mp4">

   <source src="rocky_movie.webmhd" type="video/webm">

  Your browser does not support the video tag.

</video>
