I opened Thunderbird where all my emails come into. My Homestead Roundcube email started downloading 1388 "new" unread messages (the entire contents remaining in my online email). I only had about 6 new unread email. The other emails from gmail and did not do this. Was there an update? It did not happen on my phone where I use K-9 mail (but I selected this afterwards so maybe it was marked read after downloading to my computer). Anyone else?

This typically happens because you have multiple email clients set up (Thunderbird, K-9) and the two accounts have different settings. The only thing I can recommend would be to change your email password. Then, delete and re-add the account in Thunderbird. I would recommend saving/(downloading to your computer) all emails you need  before you do this, as any emails you have saved in Thunderbird will be deleted. Set up the new account with the same settings (POP or IMAP) as you have in your phone set up.
