I am sorry, your site uses a master template. This type of template is not compatible with Sitebuilder desktop. You will only be able to use Plus.

Hi jan4110,

I reactivated desktop for you. If you made changes to a site with Plus, make sure you download the published copy if it asks.

Thank you very much Drew but I opened sitebuilder and I'm still on the site builder plus?

Are I doing something wrong?

I wish you a great, happy and a very good health for the new year!

It would look like this. If not, then you may need to install it. What Windows version are you installing to?

Good morning,

Go to http://www.homestead.com and log in(upper right) Once logged in go to Websites manager. Below the Edit site button you will see a link, Download Sitebuilder for free. Click it and follow the instructions.

bryanoruanaidh.homestead.com and elkcreekpark.com are Master template sites. These sites prevent you from being able to use Sitebuilder desktop. I am sorry, I did not previously notice this.

You are already configured to be able to use desktop.

So what are my options Drew? Can I download the desktop version for my other sites and continue to edit those two sites on sitebuilder plus?

Unfortunately not. With master template sites, desktop is disabled for the whole account

If I delete the published sites, will I be able to use desktop?

You would have to delete the 2 sites entirely. They would not be recoverable.

Please provide me with the instructions to delete the sites and install the desktop version. Thank you.

Log in to your account and click on Websites manager and then select the
site you want to delete, from the dropdown menu. Once it refreshed,
then under the edit site button, click on more. The option will be
there. You will need to move the domain to a different website before you can delete one of the sites.

Change site association

I have tried to delete the sites, but I get: "You have experienced an unexpected server error. We are working to resolve this problem as quickly as possible. Please try again later. "

Sorry about that. Would you like me to try to delete the 2 master templates sites?

Don't you ever sleep Drew? Yes, if you can do that for me. I should mention that the "Download sitebuilder" Link is now showing in my list. I resisted the temptation to try to download without deleting the 2 master template sites.

I should have said this earlier, but you do realize any and all content on these 2 sites will be lost. Do you need any of it?

yes I understand. I have taken screen shots and copied text.

I got them deleted, so you should be able install Sitebuilder. If you are on Win 7 or earlier, go ahead. If you are on 8.1, then let me know.

Before you upload sitebuilder desktop to do your work you need to delete all files in internet options in your control panel. Sitebuilder will load much faster this way and will have less errors.

The available Sitebuilders seem to be changing:  Sitebuilder Plus, Sitebuilder Lite and just Sitebuilder.  What are they all?

If your new then you need to use Site builder plus to be able to learn all the things to build a website. You won't be able to use Site Builder at all.

If I try to edit an old site with Sitebuilder Plus, it wipes out my old site with NO WARNING!!!!!!.  :(  :(  :(

How can I get the old "downloaded" Sitebuilder to work again???

You can't rock back and forth from one site builder to another. Homestead should have a link where you can upload a fresh sitebuilder if it's not in your computer and you have deleted files and folders and cache to make sure it would be a clean install.

Take my word. You DO NOT want to use sitebuilder plus if your use to sitebuilder!!
It's a nightmare!
I want to download the site builder where is it?

More to uploading sitebuilder if you have had sitebuilder in that PC. You need to delete all files on Google chrome including hosted apps, also clean cache in internet options. Then run Ccleaner to be sure all old commands, files and folders are cleaned out.
Then log on to homestead website and go to website manager and choose to download sitebuilder!!

Christophermsmith19887636,

Your sites are not compatible with the desktop Sitebuilder. You will need to use the online.
