Hi Maria5631,

You can add meta tags to the head section using html if you'd like.

Thanks for posting!

Hi jgomarizsl1742,

Sorry for the delay -

From what I understand, tag killing isn't useful and is more of a myth than anything. Sitebuilder does not have tag killing feature, if you'd like to add anything 3rd party, you can do so by using the html element.

Hope this info helps, thanks.

Hi Maria5631,

I am so sorry I missed your comment(s) and am just seeing this now.

In order to use meta tags, you'll have to use an html code otherwise the tag itself will be displayed on the site.

*Meta tags are no longer useful when it comes to search engine ranking.

Some people still use them to help make sure their site/pages are categorized correctly within search engines, but you can also add a basic page description in the page description field in sitebuilder plus.

Page description can be found by clicking page settings > Description

Please let me know if you have any other questions, thank you.

Maria5631, do search engines still use meta tags? I heard people abused them and now they aren't useful.

Did you ever figure out how to do it? If so, how?

Hi Philip8977,

So sorry for the delay in response -

Meta tags are useless now for the purpose of search engine ranking. What you heard is correct, it was abused and is no longer relevant within search engines.

In order to add meta tags to your site, you'd have to do so by using the html element or by adding it to the header of the page, using html.

I hope this info helps, thanks.

I am also looking for a way to add metatags as this function appears to have been disabled for windows 8 users of Site Builder plus. Can someone tell me what the html coding should look like when metatagging in this way please? I'm not a programmer. Many thanks for any practical help you can offer us.

Hi Val6555,

I apologize for the delay -

Meta tags were nto disabled just for windows 8 users, we removed that option quite some time ago because it is no longer useful for search engine ranking.

However, you'd still like to add them, you can do so by using the html element and adding the html code or by adding it to the header, also using html.

I hope this info helps clarify, let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Ehsan
