Can Homestead's Desktop editor be used on a Mac?

Hello,

Yes, it can be used if the software was previously downloaded you can continue to use it on a mac but it may require updates if you are experiencing issues.

However, the downloadable desktop editor is not able to be downloaded going forward. It would be recommended to use the online desktop version, Sitebuilder Plus, which has all your sites content and can be accessed by logging into your homestead account and going to websites manager.

I appreciate the response, but the information is a bummer: I've never downloaded the desktop software, I'm connected by satellite which is data limited, so I was looking for a way to avoid using Sitebuilder Plus all the time--which necessitates a 10-mile drive to a coffee shop.

I'm sorry to hear that, unfortunately, the downloadable software is very outdated and seems to be running into many issues. Its not recommended to use, my apologies.
