I have used Homestead SiteBuilder for 16 years...... I believe there is a newer, more powerful version out now but it requires a complete fresh start? Is this correct and is the new builder actually better and worthy of a complete site rebuild?

There are many Homestead customers in the Community that advocate for giving the newer builder a chance. The most common feedback I hear is that it is definitely a learning curve, but once you are able to get the hang of the newer builder it is so much better. It is a mobile friendly, responsive, modern builder and honestly creates a much better product. I recommend giving it a try. There are many helpful articles here in the Community, and you are always welcome to post any questions you have. I would be happy to help, along with many of our Homesteaders who are in the Community.

I don't know... I had a website with the old builder for 11 years. Now, thanks to trying to use the 'new more powerful' version, I don't have one at all. I have spent the last 6 days trying to get the new site working and no, it isn't happening. Several helpful suggestions, called into Homestead 3 times: After long discussions, was told to wait 48 hrs for new changes to take affect. They never did.
Long story short, Wish I had never changed the old system, my simple website was great. Who knows though, perhaps it won't be that bad...

Charles,

The trouble you are having is an error that unfortunately, I don't know what caused it and I have not seen before, which is why they have a ticket out to fix it. I am sorry that you are having the trouble you are having, and I will check again to see if there is any status, but it is far from typical and shouldn't be a reason against someone else trying the better product available.

The ticket--that 48 hours was up this morning, still wasn't fixed.
No, I was just giving my opinion: I tried, 6 days later I still don't have a website--though I had a nice one for 11 years. I was clear though, it is just my opinion: Not wrong, not right, just an opinion that the new builder is not worth what I am experiencing. Thanks though  !!

I started working with Homestead way back in 1998 and I have been with Homestead ever since. I have tried working with Wix and Weebly and found them to be very unstable compared to Homesteads new website builder.
The old desktop version I find was the easiest to use, it is to bad it had to go.
I still have clients websites that are located there and gradually they will be change to the new sitebuilder.
Thank you Homestead you have changed my life and helped me build my business to be very successful. Les6064
