I'm currently paying GoDaddy for a new domain name that I've registered and owned through them for over 2 years. However, it has never had any content, as I didn't set it up. I want to now replace my second domain name here = "babysignsWithMaria" with my current GoDaddy name - "startSmartBaby.com" Can Homestead just do this name swap for me, without deleting my current content for babysignsWithMaria. It's not clear from all of your instructions how to do this, as I don't want a Link back to GoDaddy, or a subdomain, or added fees. I want Homestead to take over my currently registered name from GoDaddy, and then I need to edit/update its content, under its rename on Homestead.

You can point the domain from GoDaddy to your Homestead website for no charge. You can also transfer the domain, but there would be an additional charge, unless you plan on deleting the domain babysignswithmaria.com. Keep in mind if you delete the domain, then you will lose all the search results that domain has built over time.

Drew, thank you for your prompt reply. I already had read online all of what you told me above, and I do NOT want to link from GoDaddy, as my current domain name (babysignsWithMaria.com) has been obsolete and unused for over 5 years - but I do NOT want to lose its content.  Therefore, I can't just delete the domain, nor do I want to link to it from elsewhere (which I have done in the past with other domain names.) I want to get it completely away from GoDaddy ASAP, before its registration renewal fee comes up shortly. I am frustrated that this one option is NOT mentioned nor covered anywhere on Homestead, and I did spend a lot of time researching the other options given - which I have no use for. So who do I contact on Homestead TECH, to make this happen quickly? (I really didn't see an option for the latter, as my clicking on HELP, just forced me to join this user community, to get self-help, it seems = NOT what I'm looking for, and just wastes my time, sorry.) I don't mind paying a one time tech service fee to flip the domain name, but I don't want, nor need, to pay ongoing fees for a FOURTH "new" website, when my third "paid for" website from the past has become obsolete.

Deleting the domain does not delete the content of the website. It just removes the domain. To get away from Godaddy, you would need to transfer the domain to us, which is covered in this topic.

I can remove the old domain without affecting the content or your current charges, but only you can transfer the domain. Homestead can help answer some questions, but it is required that it be done by the email contact on the domain, which only you should have access to.

The first step is to make sure the contact information is current at GoDaddy and then unlock the domain and remove privacy, if needed. Then you need to obtain the authorization code from Godaddy.

After that you will start the transfer in your Homestead account according to the instructions linked.

Before you can do this, I will need to delete the old domain, or you will be charged for another domain. Let me know if you want me to remove the babysignswithmaria.com so you can transfer in startSmartBaby.com
