regrettably, i am considering using a different site builder. can i keep my domain name and/or email boxes and have the domain point to a different domain?(not simply redirect)-that is, my homestead domain name will still show up in the browser window and simply land on the new domain. and, how much would that cost to keep either the domain name and/or the email boxes?

I do this with one of my names, at this point I wish I had done it with more. I pay the same as if homestead had the website, no difference in money. The domain is still on Homestead, I still have my emails through homestead, the domain points to a friends server where he built me a web site. There are settings you can change in homestead when you are able to get in, I am not able to get into my main account.

Bill5099,

Yes, if you choose to, then you would need to have the new web host provide you with any necessary A reocrds and CNAME records to point your domain. This would keep email with us. Domain hosting only is $14.99/year per domain. It includes 1 email address. Additional ones would be $12/year each.

Thanks Drew-

so just to be crystal clear, when you say "point" this does not mean "redirect"-it means that even though the actual domain of the hosted site is let's say "xyz" dot com, if my domain with you is "abc" dot com that is what will show up in the browser window? i dont want it to change domain names in the browser.

i'm not horribly concerned with the email issue-mainly the domain name issue and perhaps buying additional ones that do the same thing. that is, pointing to a web site.

Your new web host should be able to provide you  the records I indicated for your site, and yes if you visit the domain name hosted by Homestead, that is what will show in the address bar. You should not even need to have another domain, unless you want one.
