It would be great if we could bulk upload images into a photo gallery.

Once again! I find myself spending H-O-U-R-S !!!! uploading one photo at a time - this is completely inexcusable HOMESTEAD!  It is beyond the realm of reasonable understanding to believe that our concerns are NOT being heard, not being met and certainly not a priority !  It is so very frustrating and I know we all feel the same way.  There simply HAS TO BE SOMETHING YOIU CAN DO !  The benefits will outweigh your cost, I can only think about how many folks like ourselves are looking into sourcing new providers who ARE listening and up to date in their technology !  Please listen to us - do something about the photo upload !

Hi Celeste3477,

There are some easy ways to make this work better for you.

First, there is nothing we can do about the speed of your uploads.  You have a huge number of images that are 2MB or larger.  If you resize them prior to uploading that would greatly reduce the upload time.

Second, with Sitebuilder Plus, you can use the file manager and tag all the images you want to upload, then then walk away.  Once they are uploaded then you can add them to the pages you want by selecting them from the file list, instead of uploading them from your PC.

A combination of these 2 ideas will greatly reduce the time you spend adding images to your site.

Thanks

Drew

I am so feeling your frustration! I HATE working in my website anymore! I can't believe I have to put in Facebook Album links so people can see picture albums because I just can't spend hours putting one picture at a slow time into the Gallery!  I can't believe I've been dealing with this for 4 years now and this feed has been going for 2 years! I'm so done and they don't even care! Like I've said before if it was quick to switch to another Provider for my website I would be gone, with having a busy business I can't afford the down time right now and the hours to do all the transferring, I have a lot on my website! As I begin looking at other Providers, I see that Homestead is the least advanced out there! So many others are so much more easy to work with and have the photo gallery features we need. I just need the time to switch out. I'm so ready to be done with this mess! Can't wait to be out of here!

Drew, just like every other Homestead specialist on here and the others commenting that we can bulk upload into the File Manager, we know that! We are talking about loading into the Photo Gallery themselves...we can only do that one at a slow time! Big deal we can put them into the File Manager, it still takes hours of our time to put them into a Gallery. I can do the one at a time from my computer's folder, no difference! Hello!  Your customers have been complaining about this for 2 years on this feed! Enough is enough don't you think? I've been asking about it since 2010. Sad!

I have been using Homestead/Intuit Sitebuilder for years now, and although I like the ease of most of the options, this inability to upload multiple photos at once is nonsense. I sell homes in multiple states, and for each separate home I have to upload 50+ pictures. With an inventory of around 200-300 homes at any given moment, this means 10,000-15,000 photos!!! Please correct this issue!!!

Hi John3850,

Thanks for the feedback.  Are you using the file manager?  I know it isn't your ideal solution, but it will help some.

Thanks

Drew

Yes, I am using the file manager. Although it's simple to drag and drop the files into the file manager, I still have to add each file to the photo gallery one by one. All this really does is double my efforts. It usually takes me approximately 10 minutes to edit information and upload photos for each page, but 8-9 minutes of that time is adding photos to the gallery. This is counterproductive for me

I understand and agree completely.

Thanks again for the feedback.

All we ever hear is excuses! I want a straight answer to my question: When will this be implemented? I am one of your longest customers, so I think it's time for the truth!

Hi Sven0797,

This idea is still under consideration.  It is not currently planned and therefore has no ETA.  If the gallery doesn't do exactly what you want then there are tons of 3rd party galleries available out there.  Two that have been used by our customers regularly are comslider and wowslider.  I understand that this is not the answer you want, but at this point, while are systems are changing over, it is the best information I can provide.

Thanks

Drew

You are correct in saying that this IS NOT the answer any of us want.  The frustration level on our side is overwhelming and I cannot imagine that there are not numerous back door conversations or meetings about this issue on Homestead's end - but you guys need to understand that we are paying for this, we keep everyone employed technically and I do not want to be harsh but the technology out there is so much further advanced than what we have to deal with I cannot comprehend the difficulty in getting YOUR CUSTOMERS a tool for bulk uploading photos - It makes no sense at all.  NONE!

Think about the commentary as to wowslider and comslider - it's like Macy's sending is to Gimbel's back in the day - so basically if we don't like it, we can go somewhere else.   Unfortunate, quite unfortunate really.

Hi Celeste3477,

Unfortunately, as stated, I have given you the best answer I can give at this time.

So, I received an email yesterday stating that homestead is going to start charging a higher monthly fee to use their sitebuilder. And still no bulk upload feature. Unbelievable.

I am sorry, but I explained that the comments removed are not relevant to the Homestead support site. You are welcome to exchange email addresses and continue the conversation via email.

Thank you

They told me I should exchange emails with you to continue speaking with you. They just don't want anyone else to see how disappointed people are with their service!  Hope this gets to you.

Forgive me - but am I to understand that when making changes to may website pages, Homestead crashes on Mozilla at least 4 times each session and we are now being TOLD our rates are going up

Every single time I need to upload photos it takes me HOURS HOURS HOURS and now we are being TOLD our rates are going up

How can you possibly justify this to us??????

Yes!  Please update this. Having to upload one picture at a time is incredibly time consuming! This simple task should not be so hard!!

Called recently because I was working on a new site with another service, but thought I would ask about this issue again. I was only told that there were new templates and gallery formats available on the new website builder. Bummer is I have to completely redo my website again; however just now I found out that I can upload in bulk now. It' much better than one at a time. Problem I'm seeing right now is the gallery template I like has a Header and Description section for each picture, which is nice don't get me wrong it's just not every picture needs a caption and the problem is they have items in these areas and if you don't put something in there or delete the items they come up on your picture/product. What would help is to have those fields blank so you can just ad to the ones you need to. Thanks! It's much better now.

Julie6475, I will pass on your comments, but I think they added those to encourage them to be changed to actual content as search engines prefer those fields be populated
