If you actually upgraded your servers then that should help our SEO a little with faster downloads so I maybe give you guys some credit.
I want FTP back!!!!!
We have heard upgrades are coming for almost three years and no changes even after not being able to upgrade our site for three weeks. My traffic dropped almost 70% during this time.. As my mom would say" I smell a rat"

I agree - though my suggestion above does save a few seconds by not having to browse your computer, it does not address the real issue of uploading the images to a photo gallery all at once. I think we definitely need this functionality.
This thread has already been flagged so that our developers and product manager can see how much of a need it is for our users. We'll keep you posted as to if/when this gets implemented.
Thanks,
Aubrey

Sorry for any frustration, but if you do have ideas for upgrades and new features, let us know what those are. We are periodically releasing small upgrades all the time but most people don't notice them. The last really major change was the release of SiteBuilder Plus which actually occurred while we were under the ownership of Intuit. A lot of people do not yet realize this but Homestead is no longer owned by Intuit. Our new parent company (Endurance International Group), is a major player in the website hosting industry and we are in a much better position to now offer a wider range of products and services. Over the next few months, you will begin to see some new offerings which we are confident everyone will be pleased with.

Also, just to address the slow upload time that some are experiencing. If it's excruciatingly slow, do an internet upload/download speed test. Most internet service providers offer ADSL, which is designed to have faster download speeds than upload speeds. There is a newer technology called IDSL which can provide equal upload vs download speeds but it's a lot more expensive and probably not available in most areas anyway. If you check your upload speed and compare it with your download speed, don't be surprised if it's 5 or 10 times slower. If it is, then having an option for mass file transfer would likely not be any faster.

Heya guys, as an experiment I opened a folder full of images I wanted to upload. Shrank the homestead files manager window (not maximized window basically) and then highlighted all the images in the folder and simply dragged them over ... they all bulk uploaded at once!
it works it works!

Did you try the drag'n drop method as mentioned above yet? If you have a lot of images to upload just drag'n drop them into the file manager screen. If you have a lot (dozens, or hundreds), it can still take a while as the upload speed is dependent on your internet upload speed.

DRAG AND DROP ONTO THE FILES MANAGER IN YOUR SITE BUILDER.
DONE.
Instead of coming here to complain with out reading any of the stuff on here, try actually ... Oh I don't know ... READING. This works as a bulk upload method.

for homestead. You end up spending hours. I have looked at other hosts just because of this. Hope they work on it soon.

I have contacted several of the other host companies like Go Daddy,Bluehost and you can't move your site over because Homestead doesn't have FTP. So I guess we need to keep pestering Homestead to improve. The company that bought Homestead owns Host Gator and Bluehost so maybe we will move forward soon and provide a good product for us..

However, there is one important thing to know. There are many different site building software applications. When you move a site built with our software to another company, you will not likely be able to edit with the other company's software. The opposite is also true. If you create a site at another company and upload it to Homestead, you will not be able to edit it with our SiteBuilder. So even though it is very possible to transfer sites from one company to another, it's not always a good idea.
We are very confident that under our new ownership we'll be able to offer a much wider variety of improved services, but it will take some time for the full transition to be complete.

You can also right click, view source, copy and then paste.I also use Quicken and I can enter each check manually one a a time or I can hit download and every check that I have written is downloaded. Which method is the easiest? My site has around 375 pages and I add new pages every week. I'm full aware that when you move these pages, especially with the method you described, you will probably have to rework every page. Basically I have reached the conclusion that I'm a prisoner, and it is very challenging to compete with a wordpress site with the current set of tools in terms of SEO,visual appeal, and ease of use. There are tools you can use with a wordpress site that just make your life easier. (I have wordpress sites also) I'm hoping new ownership will make some positive changes I also have reached the conclusion that given my current time contraints and tools provided to me by homestead will site will look like a amatuer, hobby site. Back to FTP, it is not used just for transfers, with FTP we would be able to upload sitemaps to Google and Bing daily and it would take seconds. Try this. Go and upload a sitemap to Google and Bing and see how long it takes you.. I do this every week and my record for both uploads is 10 minutes. This is just one of many other applications that we need FTP for. With my wordpress sites I can upload a sitemap after every change I make on my site if I wish by pressing enter.I need traffic on my site and I need to tell Google often that I'm working hard on my site. An updated sitemap is one way to do this.
