Is there a way to restart the transfer process (go back to before checking the steps boxes) after a transfer is in process? Due to misinformation from the old registration company, I don't think the transfer in process is going to work.

What makes you think it will fail? It looks ok at this point, but I am not sure how far you have gotten. Did you enter the auth code?

That is the problem - I didn't enter the auth code because I have had so many problems dealing with the previous owner (I work for the new business owner) who kept insisting that everything was set to go for transfer from his end (with registrationtek). I have done this several times before from GoDaddy, etc. but not registrationtek (which is very unfriendly if you ask me). Anyway, since previous domain name owner told me all was set, I initiated the transfer from Homestead side, got an email with wrong email address (not mine) as admin on domain name, so couldn't get auth code, but transfer process is showing as in process on Homestead side.

We can restart it, but you first need to update the admin email address at the other account. Also, make sure privacy is disabled. Once you have the auth code, then we can restart it.

I can see that my name is now set as the admin on the other account (and should also be with my correct email address). And I can see that the privacy is unlocked. The previous owner says he requested an auth code an registrationtek send him and email with a link that did not work. Not a Homestead problem, I know, but now neither of us have been able to get the authorization code. I just sent registrationtek another email stating that I am now the admin and need the auth code emailed to me.So if I can get them to correctly do that, should I then ask Honestead to restart the transfer process? I very much appreciate your help with this.

Privacy and lock status are 2 different things. Currently a public search shows your domain email as no-spam??????@RTWhoisEnvoy.net. If this isn't the correct email, look to disable privacy status. This could interfere with the needed emails.

Thanks Drew - Yes, this does appear to be the problem. I have been unsuccessful in getting RegistrationTek to respond to my requests to remove the privacy setting (they are terrible to work with!). Anyway, what I need to know now is, is there any way to stop the hung up transfer process such that I can go back to using the Homestead Point to Domain I Own option for now?
