Hey folks:

Because I've done SO much work rebuilding one of my two websites with the new program, I am absolutely dreading having to do the same thing to rebuild my second website, so I'm hoping to use the site I just rebuilt as a template for my second site. Is this possible?

Thanks in advance for any info :) Cheers

I have switched this to an idea, and am looking in to the possibility right now. There is not a customer facing tool at this point. I am seeing if we can do it.

I would like to do the same thing. It would be nice to make a mirror of the website without having to post it. I would like to take what I have posted on my website and convert it into a written document. Can this be done?

I need to make a copy of a website built in the new platform in Website Builder. I want to be able to use the site I built as the demo and then build new sites from this...

I had asked the same question. What is the status of this? Thank you.

Hi Drew!  Were you able to convert the idea of cloning a website into a reality?  I am trying to do the same. I want to launch almost an identical duplicate of my site created on Homestead but with a different domain name. Any tips on how to copy the site without rebuilding from scratch would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Splitting this topic as it was posted to the new Websitebuilder category and not the Sitebuilder Plus category

Please reference the new conversation here: Can I get my site copied?

As the Internet expands and more of us want to further develop our use of Homestead products and services, the website COPY capability would sure be helpful. Any prognosis of when we might expect such an enhancement?

It depends on the site. Sitebuilder sites I can copy for you. New Websitebuilder sites can't be copied at this time and I can't say if or when it will be possible.

Thank you for your interest in assisting me.  I do believe the site I want copied was developed during 2010 and 2011 using Sitebuilder.  Please advise what next step(s) I should take.

I would need you to create a new topic here and mark it private. I will need the site name you want to copy and the site you want to copy to. If they are both on this account, that is it. If you want to copy the site to another account, I will also need the email address and PIN for the 2nd account.

Make sure you tag the topic as private. There is a checkbox when creating the new topic.

Apparently no status...

Why is it the question isn't answered?

It was answered in my first post. I converted this to an idea for the developers. If it is a Websitebuilder site, then it is not possible at this time. What site do you wish to copy? If it is a Sitebuilder site, I can make a copy for you.

Your account is set to only allow Sitebuilder Plus sites, and Website Builder sites, you would be able to edit your website inside of Sitebuilder Plus.

Frank0802, It seems you have 4 sites and all are Websitebuilder sites. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to copy Websitebuilder sites.

I have a site I'd like to copy, as well.  Westernwachurchofgod.org.  I will be seeking a domain name of its own after copying.

Actually it is the cloudsite under the website builder. It is not live, and for the most part I have copied most of what I had needed. :)

We are only able to copy sites that use .homestead.com. At this time we are unable to copy .homesteadcloud.com sites.

I'm sure this has question has been answered multiple times, but I can't seem to find the right instructions. Can I copy my website onto a disk -- er, the little plugin thingies -- for safekeeping? (I still live in the stone age, so I don't even know what those things are called.)

I'm using the old desktop sitebuilder and am always a bit worried that something untoward might happen which will accidentally erase my years of hard work. So I'd like to have a backup somewhere and somehow if that's possible. Thanks.

Thank you very much, Drew. It didn't work, but I appreciate your reply. Perhaps they changed things, as you suggested. Not sure. I'll keep trying. Hope you enjoy a great weekend.

A question, please:

Can I not simply make a copy of the Homestead Sitebuilder on my desktop and save it on a memory stick? Wouldn't that contain all my files, etc.?

Just wondering, thanks.

If you have the current website in Sitebuilder desktop, then yes, you can copy the site files to a memory stick.

Thank you. So this would solve my problem of trying to make a backup copy of my website then? If so, I just have to click "copy" and then "save" to the memory stick?

Yes. Did you find the site files? or do you still need assistance with that?

Thanks, Drew.  I couldn't find the site files, so I thought that if I just copied (the shortcut to) the Homestead Sitebuilder icon on my desktop that I wouldn't have to bother looking any further. As you can see, I only do simple!  ;o)

No, a shortcut is just a link to the files on the hard drive. It doesn't actually copy the files anywhere. You do need to get to the site files folder. It should be found, C:\ProgramData\Homestead\Homestead SiteBuilder\data\user\Sites

Programdata is a hidden folder so you need to unhide it if you don't see it. You can Google how do I unihde folders in Windows
