An email I sent today has been returned undelivered with the following reason "Delay reason: SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data: 421 Policy (1.2.1.3) Too much SPAM received from 66.96.187.1 on 2018/12/02 21:20:54 GMT. If you share a mail server consider moving to a dedicated mail server not sending SPAM.

My email was not SPAM, it was a single email to my mother. An Internet search suggested that only the server owner can resolve this. Another thread suggested checking the IP address to establish if it had been blocked, and my search of the IP said that it is blocked. What can be done to resolve this?

Hello,

Was it just this single email that was bounced back or have you seen this happen multiple times?

Hi, it was just a single email and the first time it has ever happened to me.
Today I sent a new email to the same address and it was successfully delivered.
Looks like this has been resolved and maybe was a one-time event.

Ok, please let me know if you experience this issue again, but it was most likely a temporary error/one time problem.

Hi, I spoke too soon. The same thing happened again today, same BT email recipient.
"The message has not yet been delivered: host mx.bt.lon5.cpcloud.co.uk [65.20.0.49] Delay reason: SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data: 421 Policy (1.2.1.1) Too much SPAM received from 66.96.189.10 on 2018/12/04 19:53:55 GMT, if you share a mail server consider moving to a dedicated mail server not sending SPAM"

Ok, and to make sure I'm understanding, you are only seeing this error sending to one email address? What is that address?

Yes, the error has only occurred when sending to one particular British Telecom email address which is: doreen.m.obrien@btinternet.com

Ok I checked all mail going to doreen.m.obrien@btinternet.com and they have left our server successfully. This means it is solely on that email blocking that. The person you were sending mail to would need to contact their provider to have them whitelist your email.
