We've been finding that the inventory numbers fluctuate in our Store, so that it shows we are out of stock on certain items when we still physically have available inventory/ What causes these fluctuations?

We also noticed we get orders showing as payment pending that never get processed (either the customer backed out of the cart without completing the purchase, or some other reason) that also seem to affect the inventory.

Hello,

Inventory is automatically updated once the order is completed but may also be affected for pending payment orders. If a customer adds multiples of the product to their cart and does not checkout it will reduce the inventory by the number of items added to the cart. It should adjust and add them back if you change the status to cancelled. The inventory can also be manually updated at any point if it is not reflecting properly under change stock from the product details.

Just got an email notice that an item in our store sold and is out of stock. However I have not received notice of of the purchase. When I go to the manage order page I see no info of a sale/pending sale in any of the categories. Is there a lag time? Would hate to miss a sale if someone wants to buy this and it is incorrectly listed as out of stock! It has been 1 hour since I received the email and still no update in my orders.

No problem, I did report and request this and it actually is something that was mentioned previously. This is a feature we are investing time into making adjustments to, to better the user/customer experience. Hopefully it can be implemented in one of the upcoming releases.

Thank you. One of the things I've always raved about with Homestead is the customer support. Problems can not always be solved instantaneously but communication is key for any business success. Looking forward to future updates.

Yes, we have had these issues on multiple products. It seems to happen when we announce available products on our social media, generating a lot of traffic at once to our store. We get multiple "pending" transactions where inventory gets stuck in people's shopping carts, and then have to follow up with each customer to see what happened. In some cases, the customer ends up doing another transaction which  does go through. We are dealing with low volume inventory, but I agree with John, that we lose momentum with the follow-up.

I appreciate Homestead looking into this. We've been customers for quite some time and don't want the hassle of having to move platforms.
