You REALLY need to create an option to insert a table into a website. Building one on the outside, taking a screenshot and inserting as a picture is completely unacceptable. So is building the table one block at a time. I have done both, and am about to find another webhosting service if this doesn't get resolved quickly.

Hi Lisa -

Thank you for your feedback! I agree, we should have an easier way to add tables to the site. Currently there is no easy way, but our developers are monitoring this forum closely and are reading the ideas given by our customers.

If this addition is ever planned, we will be sure to update this thread.

Thanks,
Aubrey

I just noticed there's a way to add a table if you hover over TEXT after clicking INSERT. But I also noticed it's a very poorly built feature - not even worth using.

This is brand new. If you have a suggestions please share. If you don't wish to use it, you do not have to, but it does place a table on the site for you.

I'm not using it. However my suggestion is for Homestead to do a few things:
First - know that it would have been better to tell us you're working on creating a good table feature and give us a rough anticipated launch date, rather than simply throw up a band-aide quality feature to quiet the boards. If it takes four months to build something good, I think most of us would accept that, knowing that something good is finally coming.
Second - consider modeling the table feature (and some of your other features as well) as close as possible to Microsoft Office. That way the majority of your users will be comfortable with new features from day one and have the quality they've grown up with over the years. If open source can do it, I think Homestead can figure it out.
Third - why add a feature that people in this thread have been asking for, and not announce it to this thread the day it's launched? I just happened to notice the feature by accident. Maybe I'm just not seeing it, so I apologize if you did announce it somewhere. I understand it's brand new, so maybe I'm jumping a little too quick.
Fourth - I think Homestead had a perfect opportunity to get ongoing feedback from people on this thread while the table feature was being built. How does this look so far? Do you think this would fit your needs? Is there any way we can make it better before we launch it? It's not difficult to post an invitation on this thread to an online user/developer round table session to accomplish this. Opportunity blown!

I do thank you guys for the effort to do something though. The new table as is just might work for some people, as long as they don't expect much.

I do thank you for the suggestions and will pass them on to the appropriate people.

The tables were created to be more inline with Sitebuilder functions rather than Office, as we wanted to keep a consistent look for those comfortable with Sitebuilder. I am sorry if you find it deficient in some way. We will see if others feel this way as well and maybe things will be changed if there is sufficient interest.

Unfortunately the idea of a user/developer forum has never been able to gain traction. Some versions were tried in the past, but were not used at all, so it was discontinued.

Hi ekloewen6170,

Sorry for the delay - Currently, the only way I can think of using a table on your site is by creating in and taking a snapshot of it. You could then upload it to your sitebuilder as an image and add a text box over it to add your information.

Hope this helps, thanks.

I figured this puppy out!!!!!!! I am NOT a techy type so this will be easy. And if you are a bit more advanced than me, then maybe you'll modify these instructors to get super fancy and totally love life! :-)

1 - Create your graph on page by itself in microsoft word
2 - "Save as" webpage
3 - Go open the webpage you just saved and right click your graph
4 - Click on "view page source"
5 - Copy the entire HTML code that pops up
6 - Go to homestead and "insert" HTML code. Past it in. BAM!!!!

Yes inserting the HTML works but what would be ideal if Intuit/Homestead had a direct option where you can "insert table" directly and visibly on the page.

With the normal options to "add/delete rows", "merge rows/columns", and configure table settings such as color, width, row height, and background and border colors.

I hope Intuit/Homestead will add this feature as it would very much enhance the Intuit Software Platform and would benefit a large number of users.

In the meantime you can use an online generator to build a table and insert into using HTML

Sorry no ETA on this yet, but it's high on the wish list to our developers. Because of some of the other platform upgrades that are in progress right now, I am not expecting any significant upgrades for several months.

Honestly look at the date of this post. One year ago and not a single change, upgrade, or anything has been added to help make our life easier. Yes you can add tables, drop down menus, but it takes much added work on our parts. I teach middle school and when they kids are being untruthful with me I say " Don't run a scam on me" I feel that the plan is to never change anything but you guys will just not tell us. Go back to some of my posts two tears ago and customers are begging for improvements and not a single change. Look at our blog options.Honestly, do you expect us to use that option for a great looking blog, when it is difficult just to insert a picture into a blog post. Homestead is a flipphone, and all other hosting sites are iphones.

Thanks cahea.  I would like to see tables as well, but there are a couple of options for immediate use in this topic.  Also, here is another one that is easy to use.

Thanks

In all seriousness, tables are necessary for many businesses. We would love to set them up with the specs for many of our products and be able to add links to other pages for more complex details and perhaps drawings that accompany technical details. I will be honest that I am shopping other sites that offer these features, as they are necessary for our business and trying to work around your lack of flexibility is proving pointless to me. I run sites for several businesses and am considering moving all of them. Clearly, you have not been interested in hearing what your clients need.

I do apologize that we have not added in tables to SiteBuilder, but we have heard the requests and tables are in the list of enhancements we are working on. I can not give a timeline as when this would be added, but this is on the list of things we are looking into adding.

I seriously need the ability to add tables. I see this thread has been going for years, yet there is still no way to add tables?!?!?! I'm working on one site of the three I need to create, and I have decided to use a competitor for the other two sites so I can easily add tables and still have all the other features as well. I think it's sad that Homestead has not added this feature yet.

I understand, but it has not be an extremely popular feature request. One of our former employes found a good method that some people have used.

Our website has been with Homestead for several years. There are 3 things that I have been interested in and constantly see requests reappear by others. I do wish Homestead would consider them--maybe even poll your users.  Tables, rotating pictures/sliders, & drop down menus on the navigation bar. I have seen the request over and over. Homestead, please consider our requests!
