While I have not found a way of entering links into the "Details" sections of my product descriptions within Simple Store, I was able to copy a link (while working in site builder) from another page of my site to the "Details" section of a product in my Simple Store, and the link works! The next day, however, the same copy/paste operation failed. How can I consistently include links within the "Details" sections of products in Simple Store? If you are technician responding to this question, to see the aforementioned operational links in my Simple Store look here:

Hi Ronald5605,

Did you just do a simple copy and paste from another web page. I have seen that work before, but the SimpleStore isn't really designed to actually do that.

I tested it from my end and it did work. However it could be dependent on a number of things. Did you by any chance to this from a different computer? or use a different web browser previously.

Since Simple Store allows attributes for each (single) product, and I can assign Options to each Attribute, I can keep the number of my products under 100 by referring customers to another page of my site where I provide pictures of each option for that particular product. Having made their selection, I can get them back to the page of my store they were on in the first place, by providing a link that contains its URL, on the page of my site where they made their selection. However- getting them from a page in my store, to my product selection pages, (which are not in my store), requires that I ask them to first click the Products Page link in my main navigation menu... then find the thumbnail of the product they want to buy... then click it to visit the page(s) where they can select from all options for the product they want: It would be great if I could just put a link in my Simple Store Product Details, so that they could very easily get to the page(s) (outside of my store) that show all the options for the product they want. The discovery that I could actually do this came when I simply copied/pasted written content that contained links from a page that I created to one of the pages in my store. (It was very awkward, because doing such things as highlighting or underlining the pasted link (in my store) caused all kinds of unpredictable things to happen to the text around it, but I overcame these "idiosyncrasies"... these strange behaviors also occur in text boxes on pages outside my store.) That was on Wednesday of this week. On Thursday, I tried the same cut/paste procedure, but that time the links that I pasted into my store, when tested, tried to open site builder, and not the URL (of a store page) to which I assigned them. For me, it is desirable to create product pages that provide more information about each of our products than I want to include with individual store items. Naturally, being able to link to these pages from my Store is something that I would want to offer my customers. So, it really would be great if there was simply a "create link" button in the text editor of the Product Details within the Simple Store.

I did it on the same computer/same browser, on two successive days, with the aforementioned different results. You mention that the results of pasting links into the Product Details pages of Simple Store could depend upon several things. Such as?

Ronald5605, Thanks for the detailed description. I agree it would be nice if they would just have an option that would allow the user to create a simple link to another page as a standard option.

This is a request that we've had from numerous other customers so our developers are aware of this. I can't promise you any specific features but we are preparing to release some significant upgrades to the SimpleStore in a few months. When it does become available I will be sure to make an announcement here on the Community website. However you'll probably notice it right away when you log into your account as the user interface will be drastically different, but better.

If this post helps, please give a "Star" and complete this survey to rate my performance

Thanks!

Mike
