Yesterday, I moved < mistersaltman.com > to the Shopify server. As far as I know, the email is still on Homestead? I don't receive emails on < info@mistersaltman.com > My Outlook (IMAP) says: cannot connect to server.....? Maybe a port issue? Thanks, Sjoerd

Hello,

In order to continue using Homesteads email you will need to add the email records to Shopifys DNS. Here are the settings that need to be present to connect to Homestead email. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/dns-records-for-homestead-email

Hello Michelle, Outlook can still not find the outgoing server. Setting is: < smtp.mistersaltman.com > Incoming < imap.mistersaltman.com > Is this correct or should it be: smtp.homestead.com ???

Hello Michelle, I did change these settings in the Shopify Domain/DNS settings, but I still try for almost 2 days to get my email working. The email was always working before I transferred the domain to Shopify. The settings where (mail.mistersaltman.com and smtp.homestead.com). Very strange but the domain <mistersaltman> was appointed in Homestead with <bonairesalt.com> Maybe for that reason??? How do I dis-connect <mistersaltman.com> from <bonairesalt.com> In my domain settings in Homestead, I see they are still 'connected'....... see att. the screen from my Outlook setup. It doesn't work......

The imap account settings are correct but it wont work unless all email records are present. From the screen shot of the DNS setting there are quite a few missing. Verify all these settings are entered in the DNS settings.

just like < mx.mistersaltman   66.96.142.50 > etc.?? The error message is: 'name need to unique'. two times 'mx' is impossible...... 
The setting is only asking for 'name' and 'points to'. So, what is 'name'?

The mx is just the host name but it will be entered under A records.

One final Q. Michelle, sorry.....Is it a good idea to change the other Homestead mailbox < info@bonairesalt.com > also into IMAP? it is now a POP.

Perfect! Happy to help. Pop vs imap is based on your preference. Imap will sync all email clients that you use to the server in Roundcube. This means anything done in either box will reflect across all email clients (Outlook, Roundcube and phone). Pop will pull the emails off the Roundcube server and store them on email clients server that is being used (only 1 of the Outlook, Roundcube and phone). Imap is recommended if you are going to be using and syncing with multiple devices but again it is your preference. Hope that helps.
