Does anyone know about Homestead having this? I tried to ask someone in CHAT and am still lost. I would like to add an image slider to my website.

I am using Comslider and it works great. you set up your photos in their app, very customizable. Then just cut and paste the html they give you into Homestead. Have a look http://www.mypanamaconnection.com/

Dear Lisa5393,  Image Scroller?  Never heard of this item or what ever.  I feel like now, I am not the only Homestead customer that gets left out of the loop and I started in Oct. 2002!  We must stick together and share what the other learned each day, lol. Teresa7603

Hi Lisa5393,
I open my Homestead Sitebuilder (desktop version) and then I do the following:

1.  Left Mouse Click on the Content Tab (located on the second bar below New Page, it is the first item on that row).

2.  Left Mouse Click on the Image Scroller (located under "Images", it is the 5 element in that column).

3.  Click and drag the Image Scroller Element to a location that you prefer on your website.

4.  Access your images that you want to load into your Image Scroller on the right hand column using the Browse button and you are on your way to making an awesome Image Scroller.  I did three in a row and it looks like this, www.wildbunchhollywood.homestead.com.

Thanks for asking!

Holy Shrikes! Victor4384,

I do believe if I put those chic's on my 'high-end' Victorian web site...well, I'd love to be a fly on the wall!!! LOL ROF PIMP ( p-in-my-pants) my daughter came up with PIMP when she was 7 and had half the mom's in 1st grade calling me all day long.  THANK YOU so very much for explaining how one does this!  I will try it just as soon as I get the problem with my site builder pix file taken care of.  The original reason I call Homestead support earlier today, STRANGE that you all knew I called for help!     Teresa7603 p.s. FOX NEWS 2 docs with Ebola virus on their way to US from Liberia,  why?  they are being treated by docs from USA.  Teresa7603 Goodnight to all I will hunt for Site builder plus later, Lyme has got me since Sunday, this too shall pass!

Thanks for sharing Vicor4384,

Also, the online version (SiteBuilder Plus) has the same feature. It's found by clicking Insert > More > Image Scroller.

Teresa7603,   The scroller has been in the Sitebuilder for years. However it's a very basic scroller that just simply scrolls images from right to left without any special effects. Some people prefer something with a little more pizazz and use 3rd party tools.  Comslider and Wowslider are pretty popular. If you just google those names you'll find their sites.

Oh my!  The only scroller I have ever been aware of is on the top of the mouse.  I think this small insignificant items to those who have taken many classes and learned a lot about computers just forget the basics at times, that was in no way an insult as I am a critical care RN and it amazes me how much I have to go back to basics so when the new graduates used to arrive we did not scare them to death.  I just found out Big Commerce has been charging me for a store I never signed up for nor put any products in as I never heard their name.  A guy at Homestead has been super helping me in fact he got my $$ back for them choosing a store without even calling me.  The old, no one was there is poo poo, I can't leave the room because my central nervous system is under attack by Lyme Disease!  Teresa 7603

Teresa7603, Sorry if you missed all the emails about switching to Bigcommerce. I'm glad the telephone agent was able to help you out. If you need anything else please let us know.

Mike, Thank you so much for once again, proving that Homestead IS the very best!  I won't say it's like one big happy family, hee hee hee  WOW I missed the email about the family reunion, as well!  YES, Alex the gentleman that explained the entire Big Commerce "thing" to me and before I get started with them, they were to call me today, but never heard a ring.  I am sure they are very busy.

Something I very much need to do is , and the reason I need it done is all the problems I have had with site builder since hubby and I used Flash Drive to move everything from XP computer to this dastardly 8.1., I spent 4 hours with my Rep. from Dell last week going through every gig and pixel trying to find out why my images of my products which I cannot get to as for some strange reason my picture file that is connected to site builder, (I have more than one picture file), any way it stops scrolling down about a bit less than 1/4 of the way down and then it stops,(always in the same place).  He strongly suggested downloading site builder again.  I told him if I even attempted it, my new computer would surely explode!

Could someone please help me do this?  Ya know, I don't think I ever got Site Builder Plus. I have never seen those words when I go to work on my web site.  Can I, myself, do this or does someone from Homestead have to do it??  Dell rep. is calling at 10am CST  in the morning to see if this made the problem with my picture file go bye bye?  Thank you all for not ignoring my tears in my ears and being patient with my sometimes too-long entries!  God Bless you ALL!

Hi Teresa7603,   The best thing is to actually re-download SiteBuilder and allow it to install and sync everything for you.  Microsoft made a lot of changes between XP and 8.1.  When SB+ installs on 8.1, some of the files go into a Program Files folder, and others go into a hidden Program Data folder, which you can't see unless you go into the control panel and "unhide hidden files & folders".  If you attempt to transfer things as they are, it simply won't work.

Mike
