I'd like to host a music band website and have fans download music with an easy checkout method.

Hello,

I would recommend setting up an eCommerce store where you can add your music as a downloadable product available for purchase directly from your website. Here is a link to our Youtube channel that does outline the e-commerce features. https://www.youtube.com/user/homesteadwebsites. You can also look at this example of a websitebuilder store if you would like to see one.  https://homesteadcommunitytest.com/store.
For a template or design, you can browse through the list of templates to search for a related template. If you cannot find a template directly in relation to your business you can choose any template that you like the layout of. All templates are 100% customizable and you can change the information and images to match your business. Templates are just a outline to assist but the possibilities are endless.

I sell my music online through CD Baby.  They have code that you can place on your page that shows all your albums, and users can sample the music. They can pick to purchase a particular song, or the full album.  If they click to purchase, it takes them to your CD Baby page. You can see how this works on my website: www.pitterpatterproductions.com and click the "shop music" link.  They handle the payment side of things, and with your CD Baby account you can set-up where and how often to deposit it to your account.  You get 91% of the sale (i.e. if you sell an album for $9.99, you get $9).  They also get your music to download sites of your choosing, such as iTunes, Amazon, etc.  You can sell CD's through them as well.  You can find out more about them at:  https://cdbaby.com/sell-music.  I found a great place for CD duplication through CD Baby also at www.atomicdisc.com
