if I hide an item in simple store, should it be showing as available to customers?

I was under the assumption that hiding an item in simple store meant that it was not shown to customers looking at my items.  I have had two sales this week on items I had "hidden".

Hello,

This does hide the item in the store, but if someone already has the URL for that specific product saved, and visits that direct link after you hide the product from the store, it will still show. It just hides it from the store search so people can't find it, it doesn't invalidate the direct product page.

Unfortunately, the only recommendation I could give to prevent this would be to delete the item. This would be the only way of preventing the item from being accessed completely. Unfortunately, this store is an older product and not as advanced as ecommerce options like BigCommerce or even the ecommerce for our newer builder. Rebuilding with Website Builder wouldn't be a huge additional cost. Creating the additional site is free, it would just be the ecommerce upgrade while you build it that would add $9.99/month until you are able to finish the store and switch over. Then, we would remove the $14.99 for simplestore and it would end up being cheaper in the end.

Ok, when you are ready to get started, log into your Homestead account, click on the Websites Manager tab, and choose "Add New Website". This will ask you to give this a site name. This is going to be a temporary placeholder for your domain until you are ready to go live with the site, so you can name it whatever you want. Then, you'll choose a design and it will bring you into the builder. We have SO many helpful articles here on Community, if you just search Website Builder, you should be able to see them. Also, we have Youtube Tutorial Videos I absolutely recommend you watch as they walk you through Getting Started in Website Builder, how to edit the Mobile Site, and how to switch your site over when you are done. Within the next week or so, we will also be adding videos on the ecommerce  options.

Are you going to rebuild it yourself or are you expecting Homestead to do it for you?

Thank you, Elyzabeth.  I'll take a look when I get a chance and get moving. Thank you
