This happens because the ios creates the account with a local trash can. It is not looking at the server trash can. Follow the steps below to fix this problem. 1) Click on settings

2) Click on Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then on the account you need to edit

3) Click on advanced

4) Click on Deleted Mailbox

5) Make sure there is a check to the right of the Trash that resides on the server.

6) To save the changes: Click the "Advanced" button on the top left. Click on "Account Info". Click "DONE" (do not click Cancel).

I did all that, still cannot delete email messages. Called Help desk 3X, no one seems to understand an iPhone 5C (especially me), like to return to my trusty Blackberry, but it is now obsolete, so they say.

These settings come from iOS7 and should be identical for iphone and ipad. Are you receiving an error message?

How can I forward all incoming emails without leaving a copy on the new email software?

I'm getting duplicate emails since the software change, and I get a "cannot move to trash" message when I attempt to delete from my iPhone.

I am having same issue with duplicate emails. When I chatted with tech support, they said the new server does not allow the option to forward without saving a copy to the original folder. He said there is no fix for it.

I am sorry, this is correct, you are not able to forward and delete the message from the server.

I set up my new email a few days ago. They are coming in. However, I can't send or put them in trash. I reset the email account today and it did not fix it. The Homestead server is not working? What do I do? I have to have email!

Are you using an Apple device. If so, follow the steps above. You'll have to repeat for both the deleted folder and the sent folder.

email issues.

Really pissed off with this new email format.

I have tried calling 5 times this last week and sit on hold for more than 20 minutes, you guys used to have great customer service what hell has happened.

Here are my issues that I need help with
1. On my iphone 4 I can send & receive emails no problem but I can not move emails to the trash.

2. before the email change I was using the zimbra desktop and enjoyed using that program I need to know how to set it back up to I can send and receive emails.

If we can't get service fixed I will have to look at another service since this is costly alot of money for our business. please send me a email to fix these issues to memoriesofmuzic@yahoo.com thanks

I'm really sorry Chris that you're having so many problems. Personally, I love the new format. No more spam. But this may be because I'm not using it on the web but through my mac mail and other apple devices.

To fix the issue with trash on your iPhone you need to go to advanced settings and move them to the servers. Apple creates their own folders and uses them by default. Follow the pic above and make sure to follow step 6 or it won't work Best of luck!!!

Once you have been converted zimbra will no longer work. You need to go to homestead.com and log in there or set your third party email (Mac mail, exchange ect) to the new settings.

You most likely just need to map the correct folders as shown above. Another option is to configure with the exchange settings instead, which may actually work better. See steps here: https://community.homestead.com/homes...

For anyone who is struggling with deleting emails, or mapping to the correct deleted items folder, you may want to consider using the Exhange configuration instead of the POP, or IMAP options. This options has some nice advantages as it not only syncs emails on the server to your device, but also your calendar and contacts. That sounds like a network issue.  If it's not a constant on, connection then you probably have to do something that triggers the phone to connect to a network. You may need to check your phones network settings (or call Apple) to see if there's an option that can be changed.

If you are referring to the OX webmail application and not the phone then it could be a different issue. The webmail will time out after a period of inactivity so you may need to refresh or log back in. However if you are logged in and active there should be very little, or almost no delay when deleting emails.

It is the webmail and not the phone as I am on cable and not phone, but it could be related to inactivity.  However, even if it is, the refresh button does not correct the problem.  Logging out and back in does seem to work but is a nuisance.  Jane

I am using iMail, I am unable to delete emails on mac mail, so I have tried these steps, however there is no such option like Mail, Contacts & Calendars on mac mail.

In the Mail, Contacts & Calendars preferences box on my Mac, I am only finding options for Mail and Notes (not trash, which is what I need to select to fix this). I have tried to go to "Advanced..." but when I click on that, I need to enter my IMAP Path Prefix. The "Port:" field says 143. How can I get to the settings where I need to sync my trash with iMail and homestead?
