On pages other than my home page, I have to include .html at the end.  I would like to post/share the URL without the .html at the end.  Would make it easier for people to type in their browser window and to remember.  If the .html is not included when typing it in the browser window, they get the 404 error.

With the software that your website is built in the .hmtl extension will need to be included to see the page. Unfortunately, we do not have a way to remove this from the url.
If you would like move over to and use or newest builder, WebsitBuilder, these pages will display and can be crawled with just the domain/pagename. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/how-do-i-create-a-new-site
