• The marketing tools included with Bigcommerce are going to positively contribute to your SEO efforts.
• We expect your conversion rate to improve (people that visit your new store will become valued customers and return to your store).
• The ability to customize your product URLs is a great SEO practice, so you can add keywords into the URL
• It’s possible you will experience an initial ranking dip, but we expect a rapid recovery. The improved look of your store should increase conversion and make up for any short term reduction in visitors.

What happens to all of our old backlinks folks like myself being a customer for the last 10 years and all, have worked to get backlinked and indexed?

Do those all disappear? Will there be perma redirects to the new links?

We are still adding some help topics to our Community, but you can create 301 redirects in the Bigcommerce system. Here's a link to their site showing how; https://support.bigcommerce.com/questions/1730/301+Redirects

Hi Xnena, I just wanted to provide a little more information on the 301 redirects. If you create these, you'll have to use the "stores" subdomain instead of the "www".

Hi Sally, The Community support agents are not able to make outbound calls. You are welcome to call in if you wish to speak with someone.

What search terms is the new site coming up under?

There are ways to get Google to de-list the site, but I would advise against doing that for fear of hurting future traffic.

I would like to make a suggestion that BigCommerce might want to consider offering no cost SEO services for three to six months because of this transition and helping our site get back up to where it was. We can move our site to any vendor and get back to the organic searching level. What will BigCommerce help us do to maintain sales at the level we were?

All support is provided through Homestead. Bigcommerce does not offer SEO services. Their site is by design more SEO friendly than the Prostores site. There are many topics here in the community on how to improve your search results.

If you would like to speak with someone about SEO, then you can call a Homestead web adviser. We don't expect a big drop in ranking and also expect a rapid recovery due to the improved tools available.

Thanks

Drew
