What is my business about?
What products/services do I sell?
How does my product/service work?
Who are my competitors?
What makes me better/worse than my competitors?
What language do my customers use when inquiring about my products or services?
What goals do I want to achieve through my website?
Where am I in relation to achieving these goals?
What do I need to do to achieve my goals?
The more you know about how your customers perceive your business, the better. It is also important to define your expectations before you start doing SEO. Again, this goes back to the questions listed above: What are some of the goals you want to achieve? What are your general and specific expectations?
What is my daily/weekly/monthly traffic?
What is my conversion rate?
What is my Click-through-rate (CTR)
What is my website’s Page Rank?
How easy is it to buy from my website?
Is my website secure? (are credit card transactions and other personal info. safe).
Does my site load quickly?
Knowing the answers to these questions will help you to better understand and assess the current state of your website and identify the areas that need improvement.
