I took a look in your file manager and don't see anything that is not yours. Can you explain what you are seeing?

I would add the important step of removing the link from the Navigation Bar as well. I actually deleted the page vs. just unpublishing it because I couldn't get this to unpublish following the instructions above. (I'm a Windows10 user.)

Make sure that you select a file (web page) first. The unpublish button will stay grey until a file is selected.

Hi Amanee0124,

As soon you unpublished the page in Site Builder Plus, it goes offline. You can preview it from Site Builder to ensure it is offline. Clear you browsers cache and try view the links again.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Is it possible for me to "suspend" or "hide" my published website temporarily from public access until I get it where I'm comfortable with it? I need to make some new changes that may take some time to accomplish. Need an answer soon.

Kathy, and Launita,

If you follow the steps above and un-publish the page, it will not delete it. You can then republish it later.

In some cases people want to display a temporary page for their home page. In this case you can rename the index page to something like "index2" and save it with out publishing it. Then create a new index page as the temporary home page and publish it. Then, when you are ready for the original page to go live, just rename it back to "index" and it will override the temporary page.

Mike, I spoke to three people via chat support and they claim that I would need to delete that page from my site builder in order for it to be removed from Google search. I was told that un-publishing a page is not enough and that it does not work. Is that correct? I also called in to get help. The first time I waited for 20 minutes on hold and then I got disconnected. The second time I was on the phone for an hour and a half with tech support. I spoke to Manuel, he said he would have someone contact me to fix the problems. Later, it seemed like he changed his mind, he put me on hold for 15 minutes and then disconnected the phone. No one contacted me via phone or email. At the very least, he should have emailed me a note to let me the status of my case and given me a case number. Can you please have someone kindly return my call. It is really not nice to hang up the phone on people.

I double checked and that is indeed correct. What you will want to do is open the page in Sitebuilder, then do a "save as" and give it a new name, which creates a copy. (don't publish the new copy), and then go into the File Manager and completely delete the page.

We dont' have the ability to remove anything from Google's cache. However if you set up a Google Webmaster account, you'll be able to request removal directly with Google:  https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals

Hi Leggsladi,

You can un-publish the page, which will take it offline, and store it in the file manager so that you don't have to delete it. Just follow the steps above.

You can unpublish the page as shown above, but there's not a way to disable it unless you actually close the account which block everything. Another alternative might be to put a password on the page(s) that you don't want people to see.

This thread explains how to unpublish a page.

If your live site does not appear the same as what you are seeing in SiteBuilder, then it's one of 3 issues. Cache problem, page really didn't publish, or the published page isn't the same one you are viewing in SiteBuilder (link pointing to wrong page). This thread shows you how to identify the issue. https://community.homestead.com/homes...
