I followed a prompt to make my site mobile with dudamobile, I want to shut it off now because certain features are not working. How do I do this?

DudaMobile has hijacked my company! I unsubscribed - and now if you search my company on a cell phone it says the site doesn't exist! where is the code in my site that will keep it from redirecting to DudaMobile? to fix the problem I have signed up for it again as I can't have customers getting the impression my site is no longer there.

Hi Katie,

I'm very sorry for the frustrations. Please take a look at:

http://support.dudamobile.com/entries... which should give you instructions on cancelling dudamobile.

Thanks,

Chris

How do I remove the redirect coding on the index page that redirects a website request from my website to the mobile one created by Duda

Thanks... Tom.

Hi Tom -

The replies above should help you cancel the dudamobile service.

Thanks,
Aubrey

Hi all.

The instruction I received from Homestead did NOT stop the redirect to the Duda mobile version.

In addition, when I created the mobile site, I was NOT given the opportunity to create a user name and password. Hence, I cannot log on to Duda and modify my mobile site.

Next the link given above only gives instructions to delete the premium site. I don't know if it also will delete the free site. I suspect that deleting the free site screws up the redirect from the Homestead site so that a mobile user will get nothing (ie the good old 404 not found).

So I guess the questions should be...

- How do I get a user-id/password to access my mobile web site?

- How do I delete the mobile web site?

- How do I prevent the logic of the index page from trying to redirect to a mobile web version and present instead the main Homestead site?

I finally got this taken care of - if you can't get rid of DudaMobile via their site - go to your Domain Manager > Edit Advanced DNS
Advanced DNS Editing - there you can delete DudaMobile :)

If you want to cancel Dudamobile (i did), when in Dudamobile click on dashboard, select your site, and click DELETE. After that, you need to go to Homestead, go to your Domain Manager > Edit Advanced DNS
Advanced DNS Editing - there you can delete DudaMobile :)

Homestead send us to Dudamobile without stating it's a third party app, or telling us they stick ADS on your website unless you pay. then completely scramble my web pages into garbage, make it difficult to find out how to cancel it, then hard to find out hoe to cancel the redirect DNS code on the Homestead site.

All in all, this reflects badly on Homestead. Disappointed in more ways than one.

I am having the same problem and wondering why someone from Intuit doesn't jump in here?

I don't mind the additional $7 a month for a paid version if it works well. Any one have feed back on that?

Also I am not happy that my website just disappeared on Mobile devices! Anyone try deleting the "m" CNAME record to see if site comes back?

I deleted my "m" CNAME and now my regular site shows up on cell phones again -

OK, I deleted too. Waiting for it to propagate and see if it works.

I will play with Duda Mobile to see if I like it. It looks like it will require completely rebuilding the site since what it comes up with on it's own, is crap.

It really fries me that at some point thanks to the Intuit folks my site just disappeared from Mobile Devices. I not only pay Intuit, but I have PPC campaigns and all that traffic went nowhere.

Intuit, it really shouldn't be this hard!

I have to say - I'm having the same frustration. I'm really upset with dudamobile and the mess they've created. Had the mobile site perfectly adjusted and loved it at first, but recent changes to my main homestead site translated horribly. I had no idea it was syncing on its own.

It's been a total mess without my knowing for weeks and I've had several visits to the mobile site. So embarrassing and disappointing. Now the website editor is un-editable, I've been on hold with them forever, and I still have a mess live on my mobile site.

Homestead should consider a new partner or tell dudamobile to get it together. These aren't hobby websites - these are business sites with consequences when they don't deliver.

Sorry for the rant.

Just to provide an update: while on the phone with them, we took steps to try and correct the editable issue. The site became a corrupt mix of the old and new site and we ended up having to delete the entire set of work I had done previously. Complete redo of all customizations made to the mobile site. My homestead site is highly customized and didn't translate cleanly at all for the do-over.

While the guy who helped was very professional and did the best he could, there was nothing to do but start completely over. I've obviously pulled down the site given the state it's in now. Hours of investment wasted.

You guys may want to survey customers about their experiences working with duda as your partner. Hopefully, the few of us on this thread are the exception.

That may be the most frustrating thing about Duda. There is no way to save your work so you can go back to known point. And it does seem to change pages on it's own. Even though the syncing is supposed to disable if you manually edit a page.

Nice idea BUT It is not ready for prime time.

Totally agree. One day maybe. For now I disabled the site and deleted the DNS. I may make another run at it, but not in the mindset I have today. :)

As a result of your note I went to review my Dudamobile site and sure enough, there are some "changes" that have scrambled some pages. I went into the SEO tab on all pages and unchecked the sync automatically option. Maybe this will help, although it does defeat their entire marketing pitch and essentially gives me another site to maintain.

I have been quite amazed at how many people actually are browsing on mobile devices. This has convinced me that it is very important to have a mobile friendly site. I really like the Sitebuilder for Intuit Websites and have no experience with any other website product. I think they are on the right track trying to offer a mobile solution such as Duda, it just isn't a mature enough product yet. My experience with the support staff was just like yours. Very knowledgeable and sincere but unable to solve my issue.

So I have to wonder what other solutions are out there for mobile? If someday I leave Intuit and go to a hosted service for example. Guess I need to do some reading.

Sure hope Intuit and dudamobile (now Google) get it together soon.
