I am trying to move a site that my friend and I built on her Homestead account to my new account with Homestead. I am up to the part called "Start the Site Mover." Where is SITE MOVER so that I may click on it to active it?

Hi bfmanning,

Welcome to the Community!

Sorry for the delayed response.

1. Login to the account that your moving the website to.
2. Click Websites Manager in the navigation menu
3. At the top right click Add New Website and create a new site so you can transfer the existing site to it.
4. Go back to the Websites Manager page
5. Under the Edit Site button, click the More link and select Import Page to your account.
6. On the next page click on the Move a Site link
7. On the next page select Homestead (another Homestead account)
8. Enter in the login information for the other account.
9. On the next page select the website you want to move

This will take you to a Manage Your Pages and Files page. On this page, click the refresh icon so it loads all the files from the other account. You can then go into Sitebuilder to start making updates.

Hope that helps!

Chris

Hi cmaston,

Sorry for the confusion. When you are logged into your account, please copy and paste this link into your address bar.

Thanks!

On the new account page, when I click the "MORE" tab, there is no choice for "Import Page."

On my original account, when I click the "MORE" button, there IS that choice. So, I know I'm going to the right place, I'm just getting the choice of importing pages.

Hi Scott,

That is bizarre. I've submitted this to our dev team to investigate. In the mean time, when you are logged into your account, please copy and paste this link into your address bar.

https://www.homestead.com/~site/SiteMover/

That will open up the page for the Site Move.

Thanks!

Chris

We have tried following the directions and like the above, there is no edit button in the website manager for the destination site. We already have a site created and it is listed there, but no link to edit it. Also tried the link posted below by cmaston6520 and it doesn't work, so no help there.

My client has asked me to redesign her company's website. Is there a way to make a backup of the current site, in case management decides to go back to it after the revisions. There is a possibility that after all this, they may decide they liked the old version better after all.
